I read the reviews , but decided to purchase the stove & take my chances ; glad I did . Maybe I'm lucky idk , but my stove works perfect . The top doesn't get hot when I bake (I have used it several times before writing my review) ,the burners are spaced far apart & I love the middle burner it's perfect when I make pancakes . The broilers rack has three levels that you move manually (it's very easy to do) I liked that feature . The burner covers are heavy & sturdy there are 3 sections ; easy off & on for cleaning . It isn't self cleaning , but I never cared for that feature so it wasn't a drawback for me . All things considered I am very happy with this stove .
I needed an inexpensive gas range quickly when the higher end range than came with my townhouse failed unexpectedly a week before the holidays. After searching online and visiting both a big box store and Sears, I settled on this range. I liked the modern look, the fifth burner, and didnt' mind that it was not self cleaning as I prefer to clean the oven myself anyway. Plus I needed white. That said, upon returning home I came across reviews for the stainless version, many of which stated the oven vents were incorrectly placed and it put out far too much heat. I chose to believe the reviewers might be wrong. My mistake. I've owned this range for exactly two days. Used the oven twice, once on 400 for 45 minutes, all windows in the house open (December in the northeast) and STILL it raised the temp in the house by several degrees. Also, during this period I was unable able to touch the stovetop burners without a glove as they were scorchingly hot. Trying again today, oven at 350 for 10 minutes, dials burning hot, had to open kitchen windows. I'm afraid with continued use the incredible heat will damage the surrounding countertops and cabinets, not to mention being a human hazard. Sadly I will have to return this for a different model. I hope Sears will cooperate.
Very satisfied so far. Looks great and works well. Easy to understand the features.
This stove was bought for a beach cottage and has not been used 6 times. My wife was cleaning or really dusting the stove top and put down the middle iron grate on our tile floor snapped like glass. This is the second time I have seen this happen, first was on our homes very high end SS stove. Then need to send a tech out to see if was normal wear and tear, so I have to waste a day at home. The cost is inflated $120 for the middle grate.
Great stove, great price, no regrets
