Love this gas range, very easy to use heats up real well and cooks very nicely. Makes any room look like a million bucks. Love the preheat option and how the light comes on automatically when opened. We has a slight dent in the back part but nothing that was gonna bother us ....so far so good.
The preheat function is not working properly. The Preheat indicator light goes off and beeps three times which is supposed to indicate that the oven is preheated to set temperature. The Preheat indicator light goes off and beeps but the oven is about 100 degrees under what I set it. I had a Sears technician come to my house and paid him $144 to tell me to ignore this light and beeps and just preheat the oven for about 15 minutes. The technician did a "calibration" on the oven which is something that is right in the owner's manual. The calibration did not help with the problem I have with the preheat light going off too soon. I can ignore the preheat light but the preheat function is not working properly. The range/oven was designed with a preheat function and it does not work. I have only had this range/oven for 1 year and 2 months. Actually, I think I had this problem from the start because everything I baked in the oven was undercooked and I had to put it back in the oven. Another problem I have with this appliance is that it is hard to keep clean. The black top streaks and the grates are difficult to clean. Also, the gasket gets dirty quickly and cannot be cleaned. Additionally, the glass panel on the oven door has brown grime in between the two glass panes.
Just bought it
I think this Gas Range looks very evened off. I like the way the handles on the oven door and the bottom draw match. Great Job!!!
I received this package on weekday and unpacked on weekend Saturday which is 4 days later received package. I found there is a big dent on top of stove (front right side corner) which is not only visible and also not comfort to use that right front burner. However I explain to Sears support many times I got the only answer "Dents should complaint within 72 hrs; we can not help" So I request all the customers please make sure the product you received in a good condition and reject the product if you found not good or not satisfied.
Good value for the low price. Self cleaning and timed baking unusual in this price range.
I have really enjoyed my stove. We bought it after having to replace our old appliances due to flooding from Hurricane Harvey. I had bought one that had the grates all the way across the top and realized that I HATED having to lift those heavy grates to clean every little splatter or speck of dust.
So, we got this range instead! I love the 4 separate grates. The black top is very hard to keep clean and smudge-free. Make sure you press "Start" after setting the oven temp or the timer or it will shut off without preheating or timing for you. We have used the broiler and had NO issues like another reviewer did with smoke and the smell. I'm wondering if paper or packaging was still left on theirs when they used it.
Anyhow, the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the flame on the higher btu burner, which is on the front part of the stove close to where you stand when you cook, is SO huge that I make sure to stand WAY back when I light it. We make sure nothing flammable is remotely close to the stove too. Of course, we do that all the time, but even if I have a package next to the stove from food I'm cooking, I make sure to move it way back. The flame spreads wayyyy out when it first comes on. It works, but I think having the "High" setting the first setting it goes to when turning it on is the reason for this. My old stove lit and was on low and the **** had to be turned to get to the high setting. This one lights and is immediately on "High" and has to be turned to get to a low flame.
Overall, it's a nice stove and serves its purpose for my everyday cooking needs. I would buy it again, but probably in white because of the smudging issues.
