Love my microwave !

Just replaced my over range microwave and I love it. I also love the jingle when things are done! It works great and looks great over my matching range!

poor fan, sensor, beep, quality overall

Bought this model to replace a previous kenmore that we moved to our vacation home. This one had a different and non compatible backplate so some alterations were needed to strengthen the cupboard above and new drills needed to be purchased. Annoying. Because of the alterations needed it didn't get installed for 5 weeks then we were busy and away a lot. So 6 months later it is too late to swap it for a different model which I would've like to have done. The fan is hopeless. It doesn't draw with any force whatsoever. Technical support suggested I place the boiling pan on the back of the stove. I am comparing the fan to the previous Kenmore microwave I had which is probably 8 years old. The bell/beep is harsh and sounds 3 long times, then a minute or so later sounds again, and will keep on sounding until it is cancelled. Totally horrendous sound and unnecessary . I've turned the sound off but this of course means I can't use the sound for the timer or hear it for any other feature. An example of the poor manufacturing of this product. I tried the sensor to reheat a plate of food and it totally overheated it. So not a very advanced feature. Some reviews have mentioned the number plate bubbling up - it is covered with a peel off plastic that is not obvious to see, so you can just remove it. In conclusion, I'm comparing this model to my older (still stainless steel) Kenmore microwave, and the build quality (including the feel of the door opening and closing), look, fan, features and bell are all worse than the older model. So I am very disappointed as I thought I was spending more than the minimum to get a good product.

The beeper to announce the cooking is done

A lovely appliance, very quiet, great fan and light. Terrible noise from the end of cooking cycle--3 shrill beeps over and over and over again until you go and open the door. This is only fixed by turned all of the sounds off--what a lousy system. I asked before I bought this about the sounds and the salesman said this concern was not true---silly me--

Third time was not a charm...

This is the 3rd Kenmore over the range Microwave that has been installed since 2009. This particular one we purchased in May 2017, and it stopped working this week (Dec 2018). The first 2 gave us buzzing sounds and some sparking and eventually stopped working but we felt that was our warning. This one just stopped, blacked out. Overall this was the noisiest of them all. The beeping is annoying as others have said but I need the beeping to remind me so I didn't think it was always that bad. The door was probably the most annoying part, it takes some effort to open and closes hard/loud. We have a small house and our bedroom is directly over this so it can get annoying in that regard, and it has woken up the baby with the door closing. The other issue has been the clock reset, if the power goes out, the clock goes out and if you forget to set it before you start something in the microwave then...it's just confusing that's all, we lose power a lot so.... I got used to it, but try to get an 86 year old man to understand it and well...
Overall, I felt like we had limited choices for the fit and that was actually why we purchased this, others were more expensive as well, but we probably should have put out the extra $ for the better rated one, we are paying for it now.

It looks nice but hard to open and the beeping when done is annoying. Bought in Oct 2017 and dies Dec 2018. Piece of ****!! No wonder Sears is going bankrupt and out of business. No quality at all!!
