Ok, nothing bad to say about this one. It is huge, the biggest I've seen for a front loading model for the home (of course there are commercial size ones in the laundromats I am NOT comparing it to those). Anyways clothes always come out dry in 50 minutes (which is very fast as I've tried some big loads).
This will be going back to store. When using the moisture sensor to dry, there is no way to change the preset default temperature setting. Example: instructions say to dry jeans on heavy duty, but that is defaulted to high temperature and cannot be changed. The only way to modify the temperature setting for any load is to use "timed dry", which does not use the moisture sensor to determine when clothes are dry.
The heating element on the dryer has failed after only 3 years. We called a Sears technician out and he claimed the power outlet was not sending enough voltage which a licensed electrician has verified to be untrue. The Sear technician also tore apart the dryer vent and left a hole in the attic ceiling. We will never purchase from Sears again.
I have NEVER in my life taken the time to write a review. I have 4 small children and use this washer/dryer set as a secondary for children/ baby clothes. I have to always run on "sanitize" - the longest hottest cycle and even then have to re dry on normal in order to get clothes dry. I have repeatedly called costumer service. they do a "diagnostic" check through the PHONE where they literally have you put your phone up to the machine and push a couple of buttons. Then they ask you to run your machine for one minute - put your hand in the back of the machine and if you feel any warmth at all "the machine is working".If they are to send a tech to come out you will be charged and undetermined amount of money. My primary unit is a whirlpool that I purchased for the same amount of money - I had one minor issue - costumer service was great. As I said this is the first time I've EVER written a review. Do not waste your money - go with another brand. The machine - costumer service - warranty are all terrible!!! I would purchase from another store all together - Sears online/in-store are 2 separate entities - I have gone to the manager at my local store and he could do nothing
I had this dryer for four months and I have been frustrated whit the bad function of the dryer and the worse customer service you can get, I'm not longer a sears costumer stay away from this people, after 4 months and 4 different technicians I regret I wasted my money on this units. washer ***** as well. STOP do not buy this set.
Had it less than 4 months and it over heats and lose power
The dryer never worked properly. It does not dry the clothes. It turns off before it is supposed to. Sears customer service is terrible. I called to have the dryer repaired and it took almost a month to get an appointment for a repair technician to come out to look at the dryer. On the day of the appointment, the technician never showed up. I called to find out what was going on and the representative said the repair person came but I was not home. I was home all day and never received a phone call. Now they want to reschedule my appointment for another month out. Totally unacceptable! I will never buy anything from Sears again.
