I have used the same canister vacuum just different versions over the last 30 years. I have back issues and this vacuum allows me to do all my cleaning (dusting, upholstery and ceiling areas) without hardly any bending. The canister is so light weight that it is not an issue to pick up when I have to lift it which is not often. Talked my boss into one for our nursing facility. He was so impressed with the ease of use and suction he had me buy 2 more.
I have been using the previous design for more that 10 years for my carpet and house cleaning business! All of my crews loved them! We loved the fact that you can use these on both carpets and floors with good attachments! However, with this new design there are a few major flaws that will makes us look for another brand! The turn on switch is located on the body which is a huge problem! When you vacuum the stairs for example and hold the vacuum in your hand you always hit the switch with your leg turning it off multiple times no matter how careful you are. Also when you vacuum carpets and you move the cord it usually falls on the switch turning the vacuum off. Another issue is with the attachments being attached the to wand! Whos idea was that? They never stay in place EVER! They keep falling off! The new floor attachment is also bad! Very cheaply made and it scratched hardwood floors!
Purchased this vacuum a month ago and in true Kenmore style works beautifully. This is my 3rd Kenmore canister vacuum. A few years back I decided to purchase another brand in an upright. Disappointed in that purchase I went back to the tried and true. As long as Kenmore continues to make them, I’ll stay faithful to their canisters. What do they say? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
