Just replaced my over range microwave and I love it. I also love the jingle when things are done! It works great and looks great over my matching range!
Bought this model to replace a previous kenmore that we moved to our vacation home. This one had a different and non compatible backplate so some alterations were needed to strengthen the cupboard above and new drills needed to be purchased. Annoying. Because of the alterations needed it didn't get installed for 5 weeks then we were busy and away a lot. So 6 months later it is too late to swap it for a different model which I would've like to have done. The fan is hopeless. It doesn't draw with any force whatsoever. Technical support suggested I place the boiling pan on the back of the stove. I am comparing the fan to the previous Kenmore microwave I had which is probably 8 years old. The bell/beep is harsh and sounds 3 long times, then a minute or so later sounds again, and will keep on sounding until it is cancelled. Totally horrendous sound and unnecessary . I've turned the sound off but this of course means I can't use the sound for the timer or hear it for any other feature. An example of the poor manufacturing of this product. I tried the sensor to reheat a plate of food and it totally overheated it. So not a very advanced feature. Some reviews have mentioned the number plate bubbling up - it is covered with a peel off plastic that is not obvious to see, so you can just remove it. In conclusion, I'm comparing this model to my older (still stainless steel) Kenmore microwave, and the build quality (including the feel of the door opening and closing), look, fan, features and bell are all worse than the older model. So I am very disappointed as I thought I was spending more than the minimum to get a good product.
Bought this oven a little over a year ago..for a few days now it was making little noises, but today 12/2018 it made a huge noise..electrical and fire was seen inside of oven..it blew up..not working of course ...if my children would of been home alone a fire would have occurred..called Sears they said have to pay $200 to come out plus parts???Hello it blew up...
I bought this to replace a GE profile microwave which died after 18 years. The Kenmore looks good and does the job but the overall quality does not seem as nice as the old one. The Kenmore door closes hard, the buttons are stiff and it’s noisy. Overall it’s ok at best, I don’t think it will last 18 years and make sure to get it on sale.
This microwave stopped on me in less than a year. Sears advised they could not honor warranty since they go by purchase date not delivery date. I only used this microwave for 11 months and it stopped working. It will cost more to have it fixed than it would to buy a new one.
Horrible microwave. Died twice in two years.
Spoke with an appliance repairman about having it fixed a 2nd time and he stated that all Kenmore appliances are junk and that he wouldn't want to waste our time coming to diagnose it.
Ended up replacing it with a Whirlpool microwave.
We had this microwave installed in summer 2016 at our vacation home. This home is only used about a month or two each year. The microwave has already died after essentially five months of use.
