I was delighted to be able to buy it on line and pick it up at a nearby Sears store. The personnel at the door were polite and very willing to look through deliveries that had just that morning arrived to locate and log the merchandise.
I bought this microwave less than two years ago - unfortunately I am past the one year warranty. If you look closely at the inside, there is a metal cooking rack that is held in place by four plastic clips. This weekend one of those plastic clips caught fire when running the microwave for approx. one minute. The microwave is damaged beyond repair, and Sears/Kenmore will not replace despite hours of speaking to them on the phone. According to Sears enough microwaves have not caught fire for a recall, but one fire is enough for my family to not buy another Kenmore. My family and I are very lucky we caught the fire in time and had not walked out of the room while the microwave was running. Do not buy this appliance.
Order was canceled/refunded by Sears saying product was not available when the day before I bought it and was available at the store. This was the 2nd time in less than a month that Sears couldn't fulfill an appliance order.
I never got the microwave, first I was given a delivery date one week out, then on the morning of delivery I received an email saying Ill have to wait another 30 days. Customer service ***** , the telephone operator couldn't cancel my order nor could the on site sears appliance employees they said I would have to wait for delivery then return it. I ORDERED THE MICROWAVE ON JUNE 19TH, ITS AUGUST 12 AND NO MICROWAVE NO REFUND.
The microwave is fine but the handle is not matching stainless. It seems to be a sticker and is now bubbling off after less then a year.
First off, it took FOREVER to get this thing delivered and installed by Sears! The microwave came with a dent and 2 broken filter screens. I spent almost 2hrs on the phone with Sears getting the runaround on replacing the broken parts, but instead I was told they could not replace those parts. Then I spent more time on the phone as they stated they would need to come and remove the microwave and I would have to wait again for another one to be shipped and then wait for an installer, or they could give me a 5% back, which was about $12. I said no way on the 5% but send me a new one. Then I sat on the phone again while they played the old, "please hold so I can get you to the right person to order the replacement". This went on and on and I finally hung up. Not sure what I will do now :(
Never received the microwave. The Kenmore Elite that matched the original that we had was not available. We ordered a different model and a delivery date was given. Then we received a notice that it would be delayed a week. We went to the closest sears store (Brainerd) to see if they had anything different in stock. They didn't have anything but indicated there were some available in their warehouse and it would come to their store on Thurs, guaranteed, so we cancelled the other microwave and ordered the new one. Thurs. came and went and NO microwave so we cancelled that one also and purchased from a different manufacturer. Very unhappy with Sears and will not be buying appliances from them again. Cannot rate product because we never received any.
