Good Kitchen Range

Works as advertised. Controls are simple. Smooth top is attractive. Does not have the features of more expensive models but it is a good buy. Be sure to use pans with perfectly flat bottoms for best heating effect. Installation was easy. Save the power cord from your old range.

FIRE HAZARD don't buy this stove!

I've had this stove for 2 and a half years and always liked this stove UNTIL now. For the past 2 weeks when I started the oven I'd get a wiff of melting/burning plastic. Finally called a repairman to come look at it but before he came I did alittle online investigating and found NUMEROUS complaints and story after story about this stove catching FIRE! Person after person telling us how Sears has done nothing to fix the problem nor has anyone been satisfied with the outcome of dealing with this serious issue.(as far as any kind of a recall or reimbursement) Since reading what others have had to deal with, I have called and cancelled the repairman and have unplugged this stove and will be going out and buying a new stove tomorrow. And I will never buy from Sears again nor EVER purchase a Kenmore of any sort!

Good Stove, poor customer service

I have no complaints about the stove. We were in a predicament, when our stove went out right before a big family event. Went to sears and bought it and brought it home, works great. Problem is that this is the first glass top I have ever known. Made our big meal and then cleaned up. The glass was immediately scratched up. I got online and found that there are specific cleaners for glass top stoves. This would have been nice to know while I was instore. I would have purchased the cleaner right then and there. Missed opportunity for the salesperson and major annoyance for me. I pride myself on an immaculate, well cared for kitchen and now its blemished by a brand new stove that looks like out of place because its all scratched up. I know its just my pride, but still, it upsets me.

Terrible delivery service

I ordered this stove and was told it would be delivered monday October 16th. I had a terrible time finding someone to be there for the delivery because monday is an extremely inconvenient day because people work or have school. The stove came damaged although theyre supposed to be prechecked before delivery. Now I'm not going to have a stove or be able to cook for my family for another week in my new house because they only deliver on monday? Customer service was not helpful and didnt even care. I am never purchasing anything through sears again. I love my Kenmore appliances. They all work great. Just DO NOT buy them from Sears

It’s just fine!

I’ve had this stove for a year now and everything works just like it should. It cooks food great and looks nice. My only complaints are the racks are vertically spaced too far apart. Put something under a pizza when you cook it or the pizza will slowly start to fall to the bottom. Drawer is flimsy and ceramic cooktop scratches easily; however, I hear this complaint about every Kenmore range. 

I would recommend this to someone that isn’t super picky about every little detail.

Worst service EVER.

Orders $3k worth of appliances for our kitchen. Was promised a dozen times they would specifically come when we scheduled. After days of going back and fourth on the phone with them having to prove my identity (two weeks after we paid for the items and a couple days away from the delivery day).  

The morning of the expected delivery I was receiveing constant text updates about the delivery status within minutes from each other saying they were on the way then all of a sudden a text message all of a sudden saying it wasn't coming for 7 more days!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE. When I called customer service they said they couldn't do anything to make up for the I convenience and I should choose different appliances! NEVER will shop here again!

Good oven but features are slacking

|

Don't be fooled by the stainless steel - the oven is mainly black. The top is VERY black. If you're trying to match it with white appliances, it will not look nice. It takes forever to preheat, and when it finally does, there is the tiniest and quietest 'beep' that is very easy to miss if you're not in the kitchen. There's no preheat light either, so you have to try and remember how long ago you turned it on to know when it's safe to cook your food. It also randomly beeps halfway through cooking (possibly from the temp going down when you open the door to put food in, and it's alerting you that it's back to the preheated temp?) Another annoying thing is the dust/dirt that shows on the cooktop. It's so black that during the day it always looks dirty because it shows every speck of dust on it. The light inside is nice - it's very bright and allows a good view from out or inside. Burners work well and cool down relatively quickly. When the timer goes off, the 'beep' on that is too quiet that it's easy to miss as well. There's no way to distinguish between the preheat and timer beep either. So near the end of cooking, it's hard to tell whether the timer just went off or it's alerting you to the temp going back up. Also, the "off" button is for the timer AND oven which is annoying because you think you're turning the oven off, but it doesn't turn the timer off too. Then it just shows '0' instead of the time until you remember to turn that off as well. Cooks well, but the alerts are useless.
