Haven't had it too long... so far so good. But WARNING the drawer in the bottom has a VERY sharp edge. Reached in for a pan this morning and cut my finger to the bone.
I have had glass stoves previously. From the moment I got this one, I began to notice scratches on the surface. I am using the highest quality All Clad pans on it, not some cheap aluminum pans that will warp and scratch the cooktop. Today, after having the stove 8 months, I see the glass has cracked rendering the stove useless. I can pay $1000 to have the glass replaced or purchase a new stove. I can only hope that the manufacturer will replace it as defective...I will write an updated post after I am in touch with them. By the way, the stove is made by Electrolux, FYI.
I absolutely hate this range. The glass top is very hard to clean despite following all of the manual's instructions. Even worse, is that it is broken less than a year from purchase. A heating element went out, the circuit board needs to be replaced, and all of this is costing more than the original purchase price. Sears will not replace the stove, but is willing to sink a ton of money into it. The only thing saving us right now is that the range is still under warranty. It is also completely frustrating that we've been without the range for four weeks and it will take another two weeks to fix it. The Sears scheduling process works fine, but they don't have nearly enough appointment times and the service time is unacceptable. I feel like we got a "lemon" of a range and wish I could get rid of this thing. I do not recommend this purchase at all.
Stove top pits... One month out warranty - called because spilled sugar on stove top and pitted glass top! I have read all the reviews on this model and it sounds like this has happened to other people. Paid to have serviced and repairman could not fix, said new top would be $500. I now have a 13 month old stove that I need to replace.
Build a new home and moved in just over a year ago. Bought this range and the matching refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. Loved the look of it and have taken very good care of it following the instructions to a tee! Tonight after turning it on I hear a pop from across the room. The glass top over the turbo boil element had shattered. Called the warranty number only to have them be of NO HELP and am left having to spent another $400+ to get it fixed!!! No excuse for poor product or poor customer service!! Last Kenmore appliance I buy!!! (have even had problems with the lights under the microwave and am about to replace them for the second time in just over a year. The socket has started to crumble!!)
Don't buy this stove. My range top exploded, shooting shards of glass across the kitchen. I was lucky that I wasn't standing over it. It was a few months out of warranty and Sears wont help out. They suggest that it is the consumers fault and not the product quality, which is incorrect in my case.
