Always an Even Bake
This Kenmore gas range boasts a True Convection oven for more even cooking throughout, even for a meal as delicate as a soufflé....
When we moved to this home 10 years ago, we left a much-loved gas stove behind and inherited an old electric range. I mourned the loss of the gas stove all this time, and when we had saved enough for a new gas stove, we learned that it was going to cost thousands to run the gas line to our kitchen. Finally it was time to replace the electric stove, and our decision was to go with the very best one (electric of course) we could afford, and maybe, just maybe, I would stop mourning the loss of the gas stove. Well, I had never had convection before, but heard it was better for many reasons. I had never had a glass top stove before, and was a bit fearful about keeping it clean, but I liked the configuration and flexibility of this cooktop. The digital controls looked pretty user-friendly, and offered options I'd never had before. Well, we've had this range now for about 6 months, and I've loved it for every one of my baking and cooking needs. The true convection is great for all kinds of baking, and the accuracy of the temperature is fantastic. The stovetop works very well, and is not difficult to clean up, though yes, every bit of dirt does show, so I spend a bit more time keeping it clean. I did indulge myself in buying all new cookware when we bought this range, because our 30-year-old pots and pans were all warped, and you must have completely flat-bottomed cookware in order for it to heat properly on the glass top. I bought all Calphalon cookware, just the pieces I needed, and I could not be more pleased! I enjoy cooking now so much more than I have in the past decade, thanks to this range and the new cookware. I recommend it (and the Calphalon) very highly!
This is the second range I've had since December. We replaced all 4 appliances and went with kenmore brand. The oven in this range does not keep temperature. It goes up and down, cannot bake cookies or bread, things like that. I've had two repairs so far. I bought this model because I thought it had many nice features but it must be faulty. Also, the cooktop seems to scratch and pit very easily. I've been religiously cleaning it but it's major upkeep. Very disappointed in this product, but I will say that my salesperson and Sears has been bending over backwards to make me happy.
It was great while it worked, but the control board gave out in under a year. I would not recommend this range to anyone.
It i so difficult to get cooked food off the top of this stove. The cakes and cookies do not come out cooked evenly. They barely cook in the middle and some singe on top. I do not recommend this stove one bit!
I hope to never own another electric oven again after this experience. I usually LOVE Sears Kenmore products but NOT THIS ONE! Sorry Sears
Sears and Kenmore have always been my go to for appliances. Initially I chose this range because I knew the stainless would match my Kenmore Refrigerator. We sold our home and had to leave our range and microwave behind. This range is the very same range only newer! I ordered online at Sears.com and it was delivered and installed in 3 days. It's beautiful with all the bells and whistles. I couldn't be happier.
I am very happy with my purchase. I especially love the "Convection button" where it will re-calculate the baking time from regular oven to Convection timing. The Turbo Boil is great and the single/double burner choice, is excellent.
Was told installation and delivery was free. However ever was informed by delivery was free installation was not. I am 74 and on oxygen My wife is 72. Why would we not have it installed .
It's free yeah right we started at 1:00 almost done. We will finish tomorrow. If I knew it wasn't part of the promotion I probably would have gone elsewhere. I actually still might
Oh and I didn't get my retiree discount either..
