Description Specifications
Kenmore 5.8 cu. ft. Electric Range - More Even Baking The Kenmore 5.8 cu. ft. electric range 9424 offers faster cooktop heating with 5 heating elements that can easily be adjusted for different sized pots and pans. The Turbo Boil Flex feature brings water to a boil more quickly than traditional elements, while the warming zone allows you to simmer and keep cooked food warm until ready to serve. The spacious oven unit features more even and consistent baking with its true convection style heating method, using a fan and hidden element to cycle hot air through the whole space. A variable broiler lets you capture that perfect brown for meats and veggies.

  • True Convection combines a powerful fan with a hidden heating element to spread heat evenly, helping bake, brown and crisp everything from turkeys and roasts to brownies and pies.
  • The Turbo Boil FLEX element combines a single high and low wattage element to deliver rapid heat and slow warming so you can warm, boil and simmer without moving the pot.
  • The triple ring element delivers 1,200-3,000 Watts of power and matches its heat source to 6-, 9- and 12-inch cookware, giving you quick, even heating that saves time and energy.
  • The variable broiler lets you set the broiler anywhere between 350 degrees and full broil, for a wide range of meats, melts and meals.
  • Durable and sleek, the ceramic glass cooktop adds a modern look to the kitchen while cleaning spills easily, fending off scrapes and avoiding damage from dropped utensils.

Great stove

A great stove that is easy to use, clean and lots of room for my turkey.

Fire Hazard

|

Bought this stove and has same problem as my other Kenmore stove. If you simmer on low, at times the burner goes crazy and gets really hot, like on high. I have had several instances where I was simmering a stew or food and all of a sudden, the smoke alarm goes off and I go in the kitchen and the pan is red hot and smoking. The temperature control on these stoves has a known issue. When I complained, Sears answer was I should not leave food unattended when cooking.

Great

|

Has all the features you can ask for; Works great; The only thing I miss is that it has one light only in the oven - the old stove I had for 6 yrs, very similar to this one, had two lights.

A true family workhorse

|

We purchased a similar range 2 years ago and we love it. Our model has 6 knobs on the top, one is for the warming drawer.
The only thing I wish these convection ovens could do, is run the fan without any heat so that I could use it as a dehydrator with just the oven light on. The light heats up the oven compartment to 100-110 degrees, but with the air not circulating, it turns into a steam box, which is great for proofing yeast doughs, though. Please consider a "fan only" option for future models so they can be used as a dehydrator, too.

Range works great!

We had an old electric range and were pleasantly surprised by the features on this new model. The true convection feature works nicely to cook faster. I love the turbo boil feature that really heats up water fast.
