Make Life Easier
Love the new stove. And the convection oven is great.
The main problem with the description of this item is the "warming zone". There is neither a warming element nor a warming drawer on this model. The main problem I have with this item is the poor service I received during delivery/installation and subsequent follow ups trying to resolve the delivery issues. If you get this item delivered and installed by Sears, please make sure you do not let the delivery people leave with out installing the Anti-tip bracket that must come with every range. If they don't install the bracket, call delivery customer service and insist that they come back and install it properly or come back and take it back to the store.
Aside from it being a Kenmore, I am absolutely amazed at how well it cooks using the convection function. This is my fourth convection oven and it works the best by far! The owners manual recommends reducing the temperature the recipe calls for my 25 degrees when using convection but I’d recommend even a little more than that. I baked a pan of honey walnut bars with a shortbread crust and it was over cooked before the minimum bake time was reached. All the controls seem intuitive and overall it works as designed and expected. Also, on a more minor note, the utility drawer is on wheels which I don’t remember any oven I’ve ever owned having and it makes a HUGE improvement.
Worst range I've ever had. Top is impossible to clean. You can't clean it without leaving streaks. Have had under 2 weeks. I've used 3 different metals to cook with and they all have left residue and some kind of scratches. Preheating takes forever compared to the Kenmore I just had. Burner size doesn't fit any pan size I have. DON"T BUY THIS STOVE.
You would think when purchasing an electric appliance it would come with a power cord. Or at least tell you . Not anymore. You can pay a $70.00 installation fee or $30.00 for the cord. Why would I pay someone to plug in an appliance ? Called customer service which was a waste of time. I have been a faithful customer for a long time but this was my last purchase. My electric lanps, fans, televisionssnd vacuums came with cords. Thank you ***** for solving my problem. I love my stoves the only reason I gave it 2 stars.
Been buying sears appliances for almost 40 years. After buying this stove I doubt I will buy another appliance from them again. Example, set oven for 350 degrees, soon the pre heat said it is ready but the oven is only at about 275 degrees. Wait about 10 min. and the temp. goes to over 400 degrees, wait another 10 min. and it goes down to about 350. Technician came out to test it and he got erratic reading also. I was using 3 thermometers all reading the same. He made adjustments and it was a very little bit better. Then I was told they all do this and maybe I should wait an extra 15 min. or so before I put anything in the oven. Knowing this I never would have bought it. I guess cooking anything that needs proper temperature is out of the question. Maybe people should ask how accurate the oven are before they buy them and hold the people to there word, I know I will from now on.
