I read the reviews. It is a matter of reading the book. Pizza stone calls to season 2 time with oil and heating it up between oiling.. Then every time you cook with stone you rub with olive oil. I use what oil I have and the Pizza slide off easily. The timer is ok but again the book tells you how to set it than after you practice a few times its easy. It times up to 30 minnues then shuts off. I find that suffecient. Usually 15 minutes is fine for.Pizza. I will test other item and have a great time doing so.
Bought this at local Sears, but returned it one day later. After unboxing and plugging it in, the screen showed 30 minute cook, I hit the start/stop button thinking it would clear the cooking time, but no, it just started cooking. After hitting the button several times, even holding it for a few seconds with no success at clearing the screen, I pulled out the manual. Found that after each use, either cook/broil/toast, you are instructed to unplug the unit. Seriously? However, after seeing how the controls work, I understand why. There is no way to clear the display, (like you would be able to do on a microwave) so it is always ready to either cook or toast. if you were to accidently hit the start button, it would start heating up. If you hold the button as instructed to, it doesn't clear to zero, it clears the current time back to the default time, which is 30 min for cook. If I want to change it to 5 min, I have to hit the arrow key repeatedly, and each time you hit any of the buttons, it sounds an extremely loud beep with each push. Seems trivial, but I am not sure why it needs to be THAT loud! (and was surprised no other reviewers mentioned this!)
I hate to heat up my kitchen when the temperature climbs here in Southern California. This little oven toasts, bakes, broils.....does so much. It is not a convection oven as advertised but it really doesn't matter on a counter top unit such as this one.
A very good little toaster oven. Works well, is quiet, and looks great in my kitchen with my other black and stainless appliances. The pizza stone is a nice bonus, but since I don't make pizzas, I gave it to a friend, and she loves it. Easy to use. The removable tray on the bottom makes cleaning quick and easy. It is a little odd that by default, when you press the "broil" button it sets at 20 minutes. That seems a bit much. But you just hold the "down" button until the timer gets to whatever you want, then press "start." For bagels, I "broil" for 4 minutes, then "toast" for 3, and they're perfect every time. :)
Easy to use and great for small meals
