We usually wait to make sure that the new appliances we buy are working well, but so far, with less than a month of use, this has been an excellent machine. One thing I would point out about installation: Sears charges a delivery and installation fee, but we had to pay our installer another $175 for them to install a new electric box because this dishwasher is a plug in (our former Kenmore, from 2010 was not a separate plug in). So, actually, I paid close to $400 in sum for delivery, installation labor and extra parts. That was more than half the cost of the dishwasher. Make sure the installer hired by Sears is a licensed electrician if you are replacing a dishwasher which doesn't have a plug..
Well that's not entirely true. The positive: It did not leak and destroy the floors. The negative: A normal cycle is over 3 hours, dishes consistently come out dirty, dishes are soaking wet after the drying cycle, and it has a loud drone that is anything but whisper quiet. It is hard blame Sears for not wanting to take it back (I wouldn't want it back either...)
The dishwasher looks impressive. However, within a month of installation the display was damaged. The installer came back to look at the dishwasher and advised that a leg was loose in the back of the dishwasher, which he tightened. The installer advised that Sears should replace the dishwasher. After being transferred about 20 times from one department to another and more than 24 combined hours on the phone, I decided to live with the problem. Now the door on the dishwasher has issues.
It took them 3-1/2 MONTHS (Yes, you read that right! First sent someone's USED dishwasher too!!) to get the dishwasher to us and 1 year later it is not working!! AND they tell us it is out of warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! We have spent sooooooo much time on the phone and we have no working dishwasher!!!!!!!!!!!
First, this dishwasher has a stainless steel tub and door and it cost the same as my ge profile with plastic on the back of the door. It is so quiet! It does a great job cleaning. the 3rd shelf and extra features are great. I wish the cycles were shorter, however, my dishes are always clean. I bought 1 year ago. 5 starts
Bought this dishwasher and it worked for 14 months. Wouldn’t turn on one day and scheduled it for repair. The repair man said it needed two parts and said it wasn’t in stock. Wait two days he said and call sears to see what they wanted to do for the service contract I bought. Called back and they said parts were available and if I didn’t hear back to call again in two days. Called back and they just kept switching me around. After 6 calls and being on hold each one for 40 mins when I finally hung up got nowhere. Somehow another appt was set up and another guy came out and said he had to order parts and would be another week. Now it’s been 3 weeks without working and still getting run around. No clue if this will ever be fixed because sears just keeps putting you on hold.
After dishwasher was installed I noticed a moldy smell. Tried to return but was 2 days too late. Service came out and ordered parts said heater wasn’t working. Heater part came and tech said dishwasher doesn’t have a heater and there was no way to avoid the problem. Dishes weren’t drying and mold would grow on my dishes. Was told I would be better off getting a new dishwasher that they were just going to keep ordering parts. Told not to use my dishwasher as it was not sanitizing dishes. Now out to shop for another dishwasher. Previously had a Kenmore elite for years which was a great dishwasher. Not lg makes Kenmore
