Beautiful and Quiet

I purchased this machine while it was on sale, hoping to justify the extra money I was spending by all of the features. It is absolutely the quietest machine ever - even standing next to it while running, you can barely hear it. The digital 'buttons' are very sensitive. I find I touch at least one when closing the door after unloading. It is a good thing you have to actually touch start and get the door closed within 3 seconds or it does not actually run. The blue light shining when it is on is a good thing - as I said, it is very quiet! It turns to green when done. The top rack (not the 3rd) rolls out effortlessly due to the extra ball bearings. The two fold down tines are very useful when washing plastic containers. I have used the 3rd rack 3 times and each time the silicone utensils have come out with white spots. I am using the rinse additive provided and know my water has a lot of calcium in it, so have to wonder if the rinse aid doesn't help on silicone. It is nice to be able to put the larger, flatter utensils on the 3rd rack, just wonder about the rinsing. The stainless steel interior is beautiful. I was told it holds the heat better, thus doing a better job drying, but I air dry. I have yet to dry with either of the heated options on. The cutlery basket holds far more items, and farther apart, than my previous washer (Whirlpool Quiet One IV - came with the house and have no idea how old it was. Almost bought another since I thought it was quiet). I'm not used to it being on the side of the bottom rack instead of the door. Still fiddling with dish placement. My Fiestaware bowls have straight sides, so I have never been able to load them all the way to the front on the top rack - no points lost for that! Why four stars? I am not sure that all of the features really add up to the extra cost. There are several out there for hundreds less that probably would have worked as well. The 3rd rack intrigued me. I am hoping I will come to love every cent I paid! It is a nice dishwasher - just how nice, I haven't decided yet.

Does not last and customer service is no help

We purchased this unit 2 years ago. It is very quiet and cleans reasonably well. It stopped working and I was able to remove the pump motor and found the filter some how fell apart and jammed the pump. A service call would have cost at least $500 to replace the pump on a $1000+ unit. I called parts direct and order the filter and paid for next day shipping ($35) and was assured the part would arrive on Monday. Monday morning I got an email stating the part was back ordered. I called customer service and requested a supervisor and was told I would get a return call. I never got a return call so I called back and requested the supervisors again. The service rep told me they tried calling, but the wrong phone number was entered in my file. Now my Kenmore ELITE dishwasher has been out of service for 5 days. I am done with Kenmore (made by Whirlpool in this case). Great disposable $1000 appliance. Thanks, Sears! Enjoy bankruptcy.

Quiet

Initial reaction has been very positive. It certainly is quiet. When we first started using the dishwasher, we weren't sure it was operating. All the dishes are coming out clean, regardless of the food being eatan.

Good unit

So very quiet, but runs a very long time. So far, so good. Easy to install. A little on the tall side for tight spaces.

A very good dishwasher

Very quiet, and gets dishes very clean. The panel LED's are a bit bright, but overall this dishwasher is a home run.
