16 months and $432.00 later and it works again. Service tech tells me this fridge isn't designed for large families. Really? Who is buying a fridge this size? I bought the extended warranty at the time of the repair because it was $50 cheaper than the repair cost. My last fridge was a whirlpool French door that had a leak from the back I thought this might be better. I was oh so wrong. Never will I buy a Kenmore appliance again. $2400 it should have lasted longer that 16 months. I am disappointed in hearing that others have had the same issue. ER FF. Sadly Sears will put out a new model number which will be the same fridge.
Well, we purchased a new suite of kitchen appliances (fridge, range, vent fan, & dishwasher). We love the overall appliances, and we love the fridge, with one exception: The ICE MAKER SUCKS! We are a large family of six, we all love our ice. Our old Kenmore (early 2000's model) had a fantastic ice maker that kept up with our constant need for ice. This new fridge (elite status) has tons of room, a great freezer, however, the in-door ice maker is just terrible. It is slow to produce ice, and we run out constantly. I am not at all happy with the performance. As far as the fridge itself goes, considering the size we purchased, I expected a bit more storage, but it performs very well, and the veggies stay nice and fresh. As it is now, we have a $2000 fridge, and I have to go out a few times a week to buy ice...ya not that happy.
Great quality and price
