Take Care of Your Laundry
Laundry Day Made Simple
Built for Convenience
I originally bought this washer (and matching dryer) on Black Friday of 2010, where I stood in line in 30 degree weather for 6 hours in a sweatshirt.... And I would do it again. My first washer served me faith for nearly 10 years and was perfect for everything I needed for my family's laundry needs. It has also served as an industrial washer once a week for the last 6 years when I bring home large loads of towels from work ( I work in the aesthetics industry and go through a LOT of towels in a week) and use the 3 hour "sanitize" function to get them super clean for use on clients. This is a lot of wear and tear for any home appliance to endure, especially for a decade, which made me love it even more. It started making grinding noises a few weeks ago and I thought there was something stuck under the agitator plate (easy fix) but the repair man told me that some part on it had stripped and the repair would cost more than a new one. Although I was devastated, I still needed a washer so I immediately went to Home Depot and Lowes looking for something comparable since all the Sears stores around me have closed down, finding nothing that even comes close in function or price (or that even came close to resembling my dryer since they were a matching set). Feeling defeated and disappointed, I looked up the model number of my poor fallen comrade online to see if there was anything that could maybe come close. To my surprise and utter delight, Sears.com still offered Kenmore products online, and not only that, but STILL HAD THE SAME MODEL AVAILABLE!!! I couldn't believe my luck that the same amazing washer was still available after 9 years, and for under $1000!! I was elated and purchased it immediately and by the following weekend I had a beautiful new version of my wonderful, faithful washer. There have been a couple of changes to the function buttons (for the better) and it STILL matches my dryer. If I had the space to do it, I'd by 3 more to make sure I'd have this particular washer for the next 40 years. So I guess the point of this very long review is that I love this washer and can't possibly say enough good things about it. I obviously would highly recommend it to anyone who will listen! Thanks Kenmore keep up the good work!!!!!
Bought Kenmore Elite top loader 4.5 cu ft 6 years ago for nearly $900 total. Replacing now but probably should have replaced a long time ago. Could not find the exact model I bought but this appears close. Many times washer would stop and display OE signal...I never looked this up...just thought it was an unbalance signal...would redistribute clothes and washer would continue. Finally got around to looking up the code, it means something is wrong with the outflow. Removed the back of the washer and can see where something...can not tell what exactly is leaking and water is collecting in one of the plastic wells at bottom of machine...where a switch happens to be. Could be a hose or the pump and only appears to be leaking during discharge. The hoses do not appear to remove easily so difficult to tell. I've never liked this machine...takes forever to wash clothes...so not going to waste time or money having it repaired. Also, the area around the bleach port started to rust after a couple of years! Rust...really? Better off to buy a cheaper machine (with an agitator) and expect to replace it every 4 or 5 years. Sears should go back to their roots...provide dependable quality products. We, or at least I, do not need wi-fi enabled washing machines with 20 different useless wash cycles that are never used...but jack up the price.
It’s fabulous. No agitator. So the basin is huge and I can wash large loads. It’s computer smart so it knows when to add more water and how long to wash.
I purchased this besides delivery being late for more than 2 weeks and the hose missing for the water connection.
This machine also does not have a spin only cycle for the soggy stuff like blankets and pillows. it has to dump more water into the clothes first. Other than that it seems ok.
I have been waiting for a delivery for over a week. This is the third delivery date canceled efforts to reach sears is so long on the phone and no results.
