Bubble, Bubble, Simmer and BoilThis Kenmore gas cooktop has 5 versatile gas burners to kick up the heat in your kitchen. The center Gas Turbo Boil Flex can act as a low simmer spot or as a serious power burner to get huge pots of water to a rolling boil in no time.
More Multitasking Space
The continuous cast iron grates make it easy to move and shift pots around without hassle. Slide a finished pot to the back burner and sauté veggies without knocking everything else off the cooktop.
Easy to Cook On, Easy to Clean
The recessed grating and sealed burners makes clean-up a breeze. Easily wipe up spills and splatters or toss the grates right into the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.
I searched high and low for a new 36" gas cooktop. I had a Dacor Distinctive 36" but had to replace it because it was propane only and we just got natural gas. The Dacor was good, but the front to back burner depth was too narrow. You could not fit two pots side by side. This model has the perfect 36" cooktop layout, where the front burners extend down around the centered knobs. This allows for maximum cooktop useability. The grates are nice and heavy duty and sit recessed in the cooktop so they do not shift at all. Some, like GE or KitchenAid just precariously balance on top. This unit has a 20,000 BTU center burner which is only matched by the GE Profile or Cafe Units. They have a similar layout, but their fatal flaw is that the grates sit way to high about the flame, causing heat loss. The grate height on this unit is perfect. All in all this is a great cooktop. And getting it for half price on black friday made it an even sweeter deal. Compared to the Dacor, it seems like a solid unit. I wish it had removeable burners but that is rare on units like these. I also wish it had auto-reignition of the burners. My Dacor had it, but in two years of use, I never needed it so it might be a worthless feature. Time will tell how clean this unit stays and resists stains.
I have both Kenmore elite 36 inch cooktop and 36 inch Kenmore cooktop I think this still is not worth the price. The regular Kenmore 36 inch door is half of the place and it's more efficient than this one The flame is to the middle big burner. doesn't work properly. If you want looking to save gas and time this is not the stove
In less than two years writing by the knobs comes off.
Had it for month so fr great except for cleaning. Gtrayes are quite heavy to lift each time it's used. I have stainless maybe should have chosen black.
Have now used this cooktop for nine months and it continues to deserve my original 5-star review!
I routinely cook three meals per day (for two) and often host dinner parties for 12-16 with the occasional 30+ banquet. I also can fruits and vegetables from my garden.
This cooktop is the BEST. It is not a compromise between typical residential style and commercial residential style--it is better than either! The price is completely justified.
It has proved easy to clean despite the rare boil over and a candy making "incident" that I feared would require part replacement. Like any appliance that enjoys daily use you cannot however expect everything to stay looking like new despite how much you clean.
I can perfectly saute even the most delicate vegetables with little attention using only my trusty Farberware.
My only complaint is that the controls have an extremely weak "off" detent which makes them distressingly easy accidentally turn them on during daily cleaning. Also know that LED lighting makes it truly impossible to see the flame at most settings.
Replaced my 5 year old GE Profile with this. This look more elegant and a big gas saver too. Able to do things at least in half time than the older one!
Love it! Matches all my other appliances and it easy to clean.
