Slow...but works well!

So I didn't have the room for a traditional full size double stack washer/dryer, unless I went with a tiny condo unit model which didn't have a lot of capacity. I also needed to access the cutoffs which a double stack wouldn't allow. I also didn't have a very good venting solution...it just went too far. So I walked into Sears and asked about a European all in one unit and they had one on the floor. Bought it as it was also on sale. Uses 110 versus 220 so I had to install an outlet. The first test load of towels took 4 hours from start to finish dry. The second full load of sheets took 6.5 hours. This may seem like a long time, but the unit apparently is very energy efficient. I put the clothes in and forget about it. I also use the timer for it to start at 3am and the clothes are finished by the time I wake up. Apart from draining the water, it's very quiet. I have way more room in the space. I've only done 6 loads so far, but all the clothes are perfectly dry under the normal setting. To respond to another query here on the site, the instructions to dry only are not very clear. However, I just set the controller to normal and didn't press the wash setting buttons...just the dry setting and threw a wet towel in to see how it would work. No washing took place and it started to dry. However, it took 2.5 hours to dry one towel. Not a machine where you can fluff up a few damp towels in 20 minutes. Otherwise it was a great solution for me. Also my initial few loads...the clothes came out with a slight metallic smell. I think it was just from the new machine. If I had to offer advice...run two to three loads with detergent and bleach first before adding clothes.

Defective Assembly -- My problem?

The "rubber" smell goes away after a few weeks, seems to be a newness thing. Required adjusting pattern of washing clothes but did well. However, it turns out that the heating/fan element did not have all of the screws, the service person could only find 1 that had fallen out -- meaning the other 3 evaporated or were never put in. The result was when it started any spin cycle the one screw that was there came out and the heating/fan unit was just flopping inside the housing. Water spraying out all over the floor and on the inside of the machine. The flopping ripped the rubber boot. I am sure they will eventually -- fix this but now I have a unit that even after the repair I will never trust because water was sprayed on electronics. This is a major failure in manufacturing quality. Frankly, I believe they should replace it, check that the "new" one has all the screws and salvage the working parts from this bad one. I give this one star, simply because I do not trust Sears to do the right thing and knowing that I will have worry because of this purchase until I replace it.

I loved!!!

Excellent, silent, versatile and leaves all my clothes clean and most importantly completely dry. I have not had problems with its functions although I return and stressed that it takes a little more time than usual in drying, not accumulate a lot of clothes and there will be no problems. I recommend it.

Excellent for me

I recently acquired it and I have not had any problem with it. I will not deny that at first it took me a bit of work to understand how it works, it is normal, what changes is in drying, because you do not have temperature control for drying, although at the end of the cycle the clothes are extremely hot, but The whole batch is dry. Very silent and versatile, since you can place it anywhere in the house without the need of a window, I recommend not to pile a lot of clothes personally I make 2 to 3 courses per day depending on the amount of

Washer/dryer

I didnt like it. It never completes a cycle without sending an error code. Takes a long time to wash (about 1 hour) and dry (3hours) a small load. Wouldn't recommend it unless you are a family of one.

Choose wisely

This sounds like a great idea..... Pros - One unit, space saving. Great size for washing large loads. Cons - Dry time is EXTENSIVE - hours! The clothes are super heated! The dryer gets very hot and the room it is in will heat up greatly! You also have to dry half of the clothes you washed to be efficient.

Works great

Great washer for small spaces. Washes clothes just as any other washer. Drying takes a little longer and clothes comes out wrinkled. But I bought dryer **** and it helps. The clothes are not staticky even without the dryer ****. I love it. Comfort of my own home.
