I am very pleased with this washer that was a replacement for my kenmore elite H3. It has lots of cycles & options that are wonderful for a busy lifestyle & it is also very quiet! Love it!!!
With the limited amount of characters I can use, I can't tell the full story thoroughly. But in the end, I doubt the machine is generally a bad machine. I would buy it again! Vibration problems were reported within a week of purchase. Their reply was that it's normal, but documented and if the problem persists, they'd take care of it. 45 days later we have a $1000 irrigation system in our laundry room. Tech came out never even turned the machine on (I ccouldn't be here, mother in-law met him). Simply said to use less detergent and wrote up a bill for $89. Now they can't get a tech out here for another couple weeks. Customer service instists that it's either too much soap or not level and that we should have bought the extended warranty, there's nothing they can do, and hung up on me.
I felt the need to write a review because I was hesitant to purchase this based on other reviews.
Note that a few of the bad reviews were based on the SERVICE not on the washer itself. We picked up the appliances and installed them ourselves so we can't speak on the service (our Sears was shutting down so no delivery/setup). And due to the store closing, we got a great deal on the washer and dryer set.
Now to the washer itself. My husband's gym clothes have always had that musty smell, no matter what kind of tricks I used with my old washer and dryer, the smell always lingered.
After setting up the washer, the first thing I did was throw his troublesome gym clothes in the washer on the sanitize + steam option. I was amazed when I pulled them out that they actually smelled like laundry soap, the musty smell was gone!
This is front loader, so the amount of water used is going to be significantly less than any top loader - especially the old style with agitators. This does not mean that the clothes aren't getting clean. My clothes come out clean, stain free and smelling amazing - all while saving on my water bill and electric due to shorter drying times!
If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely repurchase this washer.
I purchased this stackable washer (with matching dryer) almost a year ago. Shame on me for putting up with it for so long! This machine is driving me crazy with the vibrations causing banging in the dryer that is on top of it and rocking the whole thing. I have had a service guy out who said it was balanced, and then I did the same thing with the phone helpers. This is really a horrible machine, and I worry every day that it will cause a leak or my dryer to disconnect. DO NOT buy this washer. Also, despite using cleaners in the machine to help with the smell, it has a horrible moldy smell. I only use HE detergent, and I am careful with the amounts.
We had an 8 yr old whirlpool front load and the gasket was going so instead of paying another $200 to replace the gasket, decided to replace it. Performance seems to be good. The 2 things i noticed was that the water does not all drain out. I know there is the little drainage hose but to have to drain it out after the end of each wash is a bit annoying. The other is the detergent dispenser pools water in there and doesn't drain out.
I won't go into details about how the install/customer service experience was but after our experience, I will NEVER buy an appliance ever again from SEARS!
Worst washer I have ever bought. DON'T BUY!!!!!!!! Does not clean your clothes, does not use enough water to do anything. Made by LG and it's a peace of ****. Sears shouldn't even sell such a bad product. I should have bought the Maytag. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this machine, you will be sorry you did.
