Make Laundry Day Smarter
The Right Amount of TLC
I have owned this unit and the dryer for 10 months, as many others have posted there is no "dedicated" Spin Only" button. BUT you can do it very simply. After a cycle is done, and the machine is Off, 1. Hit the Power Button. 2. Hit the Spin Speed button to the desired spin level. (you will see that the Spin indicator light is light up BUT the Rinse Indicator is NOT lit up! So when you have bulky items, read the manual, use the appropriate setting, Bulky or Comforter, then the machines programming will complete the wash cycle and spin, probably at Medium. After this is done use the settings I laid out and you can reSpin Only at High or Extra High and get more water out! Sears PLEASE put this in future manuals!!! Your product rating will GO UP!!!!!
To start, this machine is incapable of spinning out comforters without developing a UE (unbalanced load) error. You will find yourself pulling out a sopping wet comforter, dripping all over your floor, to reposition and try again. The machine will only allow 3 attempts to complete the spin cycle, before powering off. Now it gets better! If you are unsuccessful, there is not option for just a spin cycle, but only "Rinse & Spin". Therefore, you are now taking your soaking wet comforter, and wetting it down even more, before the machine will perform the spin cycle. It is inevitable that this will occur, causing you to find yourself spending the day just trying to get the comforter ready for the dryer. Also, this machine will at random dump water, from the underside of the unit, on your floor. That's right, you will walk into your laundry area and find a nice size puddle by your washing machine. Unless you are placing this unit on a concrete floor, be prepared for the worst.
Bought the washer in April. You unfortunately it was leaking. Not noticeable at first since it was just little. Called in to get it fixed; the technician was a no show twice. The third time he informed me that he has to take the whole machine apart to fix a part under the drum. He said it is already rusty too. Here I am in July, with a new washing machine, still not working.
The parts are still not here and no idea when I can wash again. It is a nightmare!
Awesome machine! Several washes thus far, and runs like a Champ!
This thing is hugh, and the matching dry the same size. Make sure that your space will accommodate these machines.
I bought this washer and its matching dryer (Kenmore Elite 81982). I made sure to do a walk-through for width and thought I had plenty of room. The dryer made it all the way through with no issues whatsoever. The washer couldn't make it through the exact same doors. Both the washer and dryer show a width of 29" but it seems the washer is closer to 29.5"
So now I have an unhooked up washer sitting in my kitchen waiting for me to disassemble a door frame AND pay an additional $200 for someone to take it the rest of the way.
It would have been nice if the measurements on this website were accurate. That way I could have been prepared for the actual width of the washer and not had to pay tons of extra money.
I wasted an entire day waiting for my products to be delivered, spent over 3 hours on hold with customer service only to be disconnected, a day later cannot still talk to a person to find out where my washer dryer pedestals and accessories are at.
I love my old Kenmore, but the new features and the fast washes on this machine can't be beat.
