Now that we have gotten through the 'learning curve', we can rave about induction cooking. Keeps the heat in the pot, not in the kitchen. Fast! Temp adjustment faster than gas. Easy to clean. If there is any drawback, it would be that you can accidently change the cooking temp by brushing across the controls. Some people have complained that their pots scratch the surface. We got a cut-to-fit oven liner, made a pot-sized circle, and put our rough-bottomed pot on it to cook. Our old cast iron works well on it, but we did have to invest in new saucepans. The warm/hold setting keeps food at a good eating temperature. So far, we are very happy with it!
We bought everything Kenmore Elite for our newly build house. 4 month later our oven/microwave combo failed (could not be fixed so we are getting a replacement). 3 more month later our cooktop failed. Now we are working with Sears to fix it. The Induction part of cooktop is great but I would go with a different brand next time. Sears team is good overall on trying to get it fixed. Definitely overpriced items with very poor quality .
Had brand new induction cooktop installed and one burner would not work. Replaced with another brand new kenmore elite induction cooktop and same problem. Many phone calls, transfers to various departments and phone line going dead to arrange the replacement cooktop.
Love it! I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The cooktop works just like gas. The power boast boils water in 90 seconds.
exceeded our expectations looks, function all outstanding. This unit is installed in a basement kitchen and we wanted the induction for added safety.
It's the best purchase of the year! We really enjoy cooking on it. Time is a perfect addition to the cooktop. I will recommend it to all my friends
