I've been looking for a new grill since my Char-Broil rusted out on me. Kind of learned my lesson about buying a cheaper grills and decided to spend the $$ and look for a top quality grill that would last. I shopped everywhere, *****, **********, **** . I even looked online. The Kenmore Elite 5-burner was clearly the way to go. It came nearly complete in the box. The only thing I had to do was attach the two sides. (DO NOT pay for Sears to build it. You will waste your $$.) The instructions were not the best so it look a little longer than expected, but it was not hard at all. The main box is welded not bolted together, and the stainless-steel is think and heavy. Not that flexible **** you get from most cheap grills. The steel cooking grates are top quality. Even the dip guards that cover the flame are solid and heavy. The grill comes with two halogen lights for cooking, and the front knobs light up a cool neon blue color with the flick of a switch. there is plenty of room underneath for storage, and it even has a place to store the rotisserie motor and rod. The only thing I dislike is that they used thinner steel grates for the side burner and side searer. Other than that this grill is worth every dollar. In fact, my best friend was so impressed that he tossed out his Char-Broil grill and bought this grill a week after I got mine.
Thought buying a re-branded Weber grill (Kenmore Elite) was the best way to get the high quality I was looking for... Was I mistaken.This $1000 paper weight was worthless. Sears OFFERED NO HELP in fixing a broken 250# grill. Asked me to return it and as soon as I had help, it was dropped off. Sears has lost the service and quality I used to think they offered. I will not be back.
Hinges are rusted off the doors, grease tray (held with 4 rivets) has fallen off, all of the fastening hardware for the burners have rusted away completely. In summary, most steel components that are not stainless steel have rusted and degraded beyond use. Good Looking, but NOT built to last. Poor metal quality.
Our grill is less than 4 years old and the INSIDE is totally rotting out. After spending this kind of $, I expected it to last a little longer. And, yes, I have a grill cover.
I bought a expensive Stainless Kenmore Elite series 700 grill in January. In June the Rotisserie burner stopped lighting. Waited 2 weeks for tech. He ordered parts and 3 weeks later came back. One part was missing so he said we had to wait. It is now October and I called again about the repair. After being disconnected 5 times, I was finally told that the part was unavailable. I was told I had to go into the store and was given a store credit and would get a new grill . I asked if I needed some paperwork and they said no just go to the store give them your phone number and photo ID they will know what to do . So I am now at the store and I’ve been told that I can’t be helped until one person comes back from lunch which will be 30 minutes more. I’m waiting but will never buy from Sears
Very nice, the food tastes wonderful. White Glove Service has a lot to be desired. They dropped & left. leaving cardboard & styrofoam inside the grill. Not wiping down debris nor fingerprints. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for the service.
