bad quality shelf, they break every month. Sears was not helpful go to ****** instead. DON'T BUY FRIDGE GET SAMSUNG FRIDGE FROM ****** A MINI FRIDGE IS BETTER FOR THE MONEY.
Some people have complained about the slowness of the ice maker. I don't mind that so much, I'm frustrated with the bad thermistor which causes the refrigerator to frost over, the supposedly bad compressor fan motor which causes the fridge to not cool to the proper temperature, and now the bad compressor which is causing both the freezer to not freeze food and the fridge to not come down to proper temperature. The last service guy literally threw up his arms and shoulders and suggested I go get something else at the scratch and dent.
we needed a smaller refrigerator and we purchase the Kenmore elite BAD PURCHASE ! paid 2,500 for it and the ice maker works when it wants too WOW .For 2 people you think we would never run out . but everyday we run out of ice when it decide to work .DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY . VERY DISAPPOINTED
We've had this refrigerator just over 3 years. It was a great refrigerator until a couple months ago. It's got more than enough room for my family. It broke down, I mean completely stopped working at 3 years of ownership. I could go on about the issues with the Sears repair people, but that's a different story. It's been over 2 months & it's still not repaired correctly. I'm not only upset that it quit after only 3 years of ownership. The repair issues have mad me very angry.
Sears 'free' delivery is ****, and I would NOT pay for a scheduled delivery time, because they won't stand by it. We were left hanging when we cleared our entire day for the delivery of our fridge, and were not notified that it hadn't arrived at the warehouse until 10 minutes to their latest delivery time. So we waited the entire day, had already emptied out our old fridge and moved it out of the house so that the new one could be put in place. We were not left with any reason to believe that Sears would not hold up their end of the deal, as we'd been in contact the night before with the pre-delivery phone call. We went above and beyond to make sure the transaction was seamless and convenient.
When we called into customer service about the issue, they had little empathy and told us that the only thing to do was schedule the delivery for the following week. To compensate for the inconvenience they told us to pick a time of day that worked for us. Sears did not follow through on their appointment, and the delivery guy brought the fridge 6 hours early. Meaning no one was home!!! The delivery guy said that he wouldn’t be in the area to deliver at our ‘scheduled’ delivery time. They tell you that someone NEEDS to be home, which is why we scheduled the appointment. And why my husband had taken the previous scheduled delivery day off of work to ensure that someone would be home to receive the fridge.
Sear’s only response to the blatant lack of communication and failure to hold up their end of things was simply, “It’s not our fault.”
That said as far as the Fridge goes, thus far I have been pleased. It was one of the top recommended appliances on consumer reports. If I were giving this rating to the refrigerator alone, I’d give it 4.5 stars.
I suppose a couple knit-picks I would have are that the water dispenser on the fridge is supposed to count the volume of liquid that it dispenses. We have it set to ounces currently, and it is not accurate, nor consistent. That feature is essentially useless. Because of that, I have little faith in the measured fill feature, which I have not yet tested out.
Not a single problem in 15 years with my last Kenmore refrigerator. My new 3 year old refrigerator will have its second repair today and cost me another $100 in bad food.
