Fits my small opening

Waited a year to write this after seeing so many bad reviews. This was the only machine that fit my opening so there was no choice. My experience has been all good. On the lighting that folks complain about i would say it is more than adequate. On the icemaker failures the unit has jammed a couple of times. Switching from cubes to crushed reverses the dispensor rotation and fixes the issue. On the repairs mine has worked fine. The shelves are not adjustable but we have not had any issue and it seems very roomy for the cubic foot size that it is. Extremely quiet. One downside is (and i have multiple homes with other brands and they are all the same) the water from the dispensor is not cold enough.

I purchased this refrigerator 3 years ago and it now has a leak, neither the freezer nor freezer gets cold and I'm told the repair will cost almost as much as the original cost. A refrigerator should last longer than 3 years. Other reviewers raise the same problem, i.e., leak. Why does Sears continue to sell this product if they know it's defective?

If I could give this 0 stars I would.


If I could have given this and the company 0 stars I would have. We purchased all new Kenmore Elite appliances in 2014 and within the first year Sears replaced our refrigerator 4 times in the first year. They replaced it for the last time in the 2nd year. Our freezer died a few days ago and we lost everything in our freezer. We found out it's the compressor which is made by LG and they have a class action lawsuit against them for. We were told it was going to cost $1000 - $1500 to repair and wouldn't be worth repairing. The repair company told us to contact Sears and let them know it's the compressor as LG has a 10 year warranty on the compressors and it should be covered. I've called several times over the last 2 days and have been transferred and disconnected several times. When I did speak to someone they told me there was nothing they could do about this. Sears knows this is a problem yet they refuse to do anything about it. I'm very upset and disappointed that we will have to purchase a new refrigerator less than 6 years after our original purchase. Sears should be ashamed of themselves.

Worst customer service on the planet


I purchased this refrigerator brand new and had it delivered to my home. I regretfully opted out of the extended warranty because of Sears' astronomical warranty prices. Within the first few months, the drawer fell out for no apparent reason. It took hours to explain to the out-sourced customer support what was wrong. Finally, they sent a new drawer which didn't even resolve the issue. After the first year, I noticed a large spot of condensation on the outside of the freezer door. Turns out the door is faulty and leaking cold air. Sears refused to address the issue. It gets better... 19 months after my purchase, the compressor breaks. I spent $100 having it diagnosed just to find out the compressor is under warranty but not the labor. I was transferred TEN times, every time explaining what was going on, just to be disconnected a total of THREE times with no callback. Sears refused to do anything for me. I have had problem after problem and all it got me was a trip to the landfill. Do yourself a favor and buy ANY other refrigerator from ANY other company. Sears customer service by far the absolute worst service I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I will forever ban their company.

Many problems


The water comes out slower than any other fridge I have ever seen. it's terrible, also the ice doesn't keep up.

6 months later, it's making noise. I hope customer service helps.
