We love this refrigerator

I was surprised to read so many negative reviews and am concerned about the complaints with the compressor. That aside, we love it. We've had no problems - it's very spacious and has great features. My only complaint is we're having a hard time replacing the water filter. Bought 2 different ones on ****** that were recommended for this model and neither fit. Luckily, ****** let us return both. We have no choice now, but to buy it from Sears.

Worst Purchase and Customer Service

Paid $3000 sale price for this product 2 years ago. (It replaced a $3000 model that I had approximately 6 years). Noticed it was not cooling only to find that I had lost over $200 in food. Contacted Sears. Had to wait 3 1/2 weeks for them to come to tell me the compressor had gone bad. I now have to wait an additional 3+ weeks to have them replace it and am being charged over $486 for the repair. That is seven weeks without a refrigerator.) I have been a loyal customer who has bought and replaced every top of the line appliance for my home for over 40 years. While the local salespeople are excellent, corporate is robotic (they can only read their policy) and non responsive. I was transferred to a "manager" who refused additional assistance. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT or SEARS. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing.

Horrible experience ! Kenmore/Sears impossible to reach by phone or e-mail ! I have serious problem with my Kenmore Elite fridge - whereas poor craftmanship causes electrical component to be exposed to water - thus, water shorted out the component ! I should not have to pay for this - and I can't get anyone to respond ! Truly unbelievable that electronics are openly exposed to water. I am not an electrician or plumber - but clearly a lack of a protecting gasket or something - should have been created. HELP !!!!!

Do not Buy

You are expending a lot of money for a item that when it needs services can not be repaired, and you end up with garbage. Plus you to pay $100 for the bad Costumer Services. Sears does not back up their products and brands. I suggest you go to ****** instead.

Worst Refrigerator Ever and Even Worse Warranty & Service

Bought this refrigerator in July 2015. Loved it for the first 4 years. Chill drawer stopped working in 2019 but was still cold. Compressor failed on 10/31/19. Called Sears. A&E was sent out to repair. They replaced the compressor, a fan, and the refrigerant dryer. I was without a fridge for about 12 days. Cost me $426 since warranty was parts only. I had to pay for labor. Repair Tech said the compressor cost about $400. It worked for 10 weeks and failed again within the 90 days service guarantee. That is when the trouble started. Called Sears. First told us that I would have to pay again because my 90 days was up. It had only been about 65 days. They sent out A&E again. A&E said the system was stopped up probably because of debris from the failed compressor. Ordered parts, new evaporator, new condenser, and new dryer. One week later he installed parts. Fridge lasted about 24 and failed again. Called Sears. Took a week to get a repairman. Repairman ordered parts. Parts arrived a week later. Received a text from Sears asking for parts arrival confirmation. Called the provided number and an automated system said a repairman was scheduled the next day between 8 and 12. No one showed up. Called Sears. They said they didn't get the parts confirmation. Told them I had called the provided number and received an appointment. They said it didn't count since I didn't talk to a human. Set up another appointment for 3 days later. Repairman arrived and found a ruptured freon line which leaked freon and oil due to a faulty solder joint that he had installed previously and also discovered a solder joint made by the tech when he installed the compressor in November that was improperly installed and partially blocked the freon line. New compressor had to be installed and a new refrigerant dryer. 2 other parts which were ordered were not installed since he felt he had fixed it. Repairman left and the fridge failed again 24 hours later. Tried calling for service. Couldn't get an appointment because the previous appointment had not been closed. Called Customer Care 2 times. They hung up on me the first time. I sent 2 emails to Customer care. Never received a response. Called Sears Headquarters in Chicago. Opened a case number. Representative tried to tell me that I didn't have any warranty since the refrigerator was more than 12 months old. Told her I was looking at the manual as we spoke that clearly stated that I had a 5 year sealed pressure system warranty and a 10 year compressor warranty. She said I was incorrect. She offered to repay my $426 from November minus the $89 service call. I said no because my refrigerator was still broke. She said it was not her problem. Contacted the Chicago Better Business Bureau and was ready to call my State Attorney General when I received an email stating they were going to replace my refrigerator but wanted a copy of my ales receipt. Currently waiting on my replacement ....

Crapped out after 4 years - LG compressor is garbage

Would not recommend, would not buy. Refrigerators should last, on average, 13 years. This laster 4 years and it's the LG compressor that is bad and a known defect. But, even knowing this, Sears is going to charge me for the diagnostic fee and the labor to repair/replace it! Ridiculous! My Frigidaire is still working without issue 15 years later!

Ice maker breaks and cannot be fixed

This refrigerator, made by LG, is ****. 2 years old and the ice maker breaks. The sears repairman says the wiring is bad between the mother board and ice maker and cannot be repaired. This unit replace the 2-3 year old LG brand I had under service contract, that had the same problem and sears could not fix it. They refused to let me buy a service contract for this one, since it was a replacement, so now it's garbage. DO NOT BUY THIS or any other LG made refrigerator; you are throwing your money away. I am also disappointed with Sears home repair. In my experience with the refrigerators and dryer, they can't fix anything.
