Very Happy-GREAT IMPROVEMENT OVER Side-by-Side

I agonized thru 5 stores and finally came back to Sears. My old Kenmore side-by-side konked out after 13 years and I needed something less than 35 inches wide. This was the best choice that I could find ... and it was delivered within 48 hours (getting a white unit elsewhere was a 2 week wait). The guys just dropped it off and would not connect a water line unless they did it all brand new so I did it (you need a 1/4 inch compression fitting). I read the directions and all was very clear. Only pain is taking all the tape and packing material off the exterior and interior (especially shelves). Since my old one died, I has to throw the food away and went to the store and bought all new stuff ... made a list of everything and rebought and stocked. Somehow, this fridge has twice the space of the old side by side. The only real difference is the layout and do note this unit is taller than my old unit ... and did not think of measuring that but it fit fine. Only issue is that the main shelves in the very top position and the very lowest position will not take a milk jug (by about 1/4 inch) ... that is a bit irritating but there is plenty of room on the doors for that and some wine bottles (with some juice). The bottom freezer is like the others and it seemed to fit MUCH MORE than the side-by-side. Overall, it is generally quiet and is making ice after about 8 hours and stuff is freezing after 6 hours from initial startup. No issues andif there are problems, I will come back and update my review.

Disappointing

Compressor failed within 1st year. 3 week wait for Sears to come out and fix. No-showed 2 appointment on me after I waited 4 hours and stayed home from work. Rude, unapologetic. Lost whole freezer full of food. Regret this purchase.

Don't be fooled

DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY!!! I paid $2100 for this refrigerator in April 2016. 6 months after I bought it, the electric went out. It took them THIRTY days, to repair it. I fought with their customer service daily. I have 3 kids and 30 days was unacceptable. 2 days ago, I woke up to everything being mush. It broke again! This time it's the compressor. And it's no longer under warranty, and it will cost at least $700 for Sears to come out, diagnose is, order the part and replace it. I called two repair men. Neither of them will touch it bc although it is advertised as a Kenmore Elite, it is really an LG. Do your research-- LGs are **** products - and this appliance is notorious for the compressors going. So, I am not going to throw $700 into it, when the reality is, it will just break again in a year or less. I am going to get a new refrigerator today. I will never shop at Sears again. I feel as though I have been scammed with their false advertising of products. Easy for them to stick a Kenmoore sticker on this product when its not even a Kenmoore!! The fact that two repari men, both whom have been in the business for over 20 years, will not touch this product, speaks volumes!!!

Ice Maker Never Worked.

|

We purchased this in May 2017. While I am happy with the refrigerator, the icemaker has never worked. It seems to not get enough water, or any water, to make ice cubes. I was also required to purchase a new water hose for this at time of purchase but delivery guys would not install water line. Our old ice maker worked great so I'm pretty sure screwing the old hose onto the new refrigerator was not the cause of it's inability to make ice. I also paid for old refrigerator removal/disposal but had it moved into garage and not removed from premise. Neither of these extras was reimbursed, nor did I ever see the water hose I had to purchase.

First the ice maker stops functioning, then the refrigerator and freezer go. Had this repaired at cost of hundreds of dollars less than 8 months ago. CAUTION: SEARS NO LONGER STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCTS! THIS IS ACTUALLY AN LG BRAND PRODUCT AND NO INDEPENDENT REPAIR COMPANIES WILL TOUCH IT! SEARS WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY ISSUE.

Great until it stops working

|

Purchased this in September of 2015. We didn't have many options to fit into our space. Nice looking frig and everything was great. In June of 2016 the ice maker stopped making ice. We called an they said the frig had too much stuff in it and had blocked the airflow. We had food in it for a graduation party. The ice maker worked again but on and off we had problems. Spring of 2018 we started having problems with not getting ice again and the freezer food being soft. Finally called at the end of June. Luckily we bought the extended warranty. Took about 2 weeks for technician to come out. Said it was the motherboard but also said there are many problems with the compressor so he ordered that too since the extended warranty was coming up. Took until the beginning of August to get the parts in and fixed. Just in the past 2 weeks the food in the freezer is soft again. We called Sears and they informed us the 90 days for the replacement part is up by 2 days and there is nothing they can do. Today our freezer isn't working at all. There is a known problem with LG and Kenmore Elite made by LG and the LG Linear compressor problems. We will not ever buy from Sears again due to the horrible treatment you get from customer service and will never buy anything Kenmore or LG ever again. I see many people give this 5 stars and I would have too within the first 6 - 12 months. Just wait though, the compressor will go out and you will be in the same boat. DO NOT BUY anything that has an LG compressor!

iWorst refrigerator I have ever bought

|

It only lasted not even 14 months and I didn’t purchase the warranty because at the time I just had enough for the it. When it went out I called Sears and they offered me a warranty that I purchased that day. Their technicians worked on it 4 times and could not get it working so I thought I would get the same refrigerator replacement but all they wanted to give me a $500 voucher for a new one but I still owed
2500 so I still had to pay the balance plus a new purchase so I rejected it after paying for the new warranty so I got screwed and it still doesn’t work almost 1 year later. This only confirms why Sears is going bankrupt for their horrible customer service. I loved Sears I had purchased 4 appliances that year but I have not set foot in there or Kmart since.I am very disappointed!!!
