Love it

Replaced a 13 year old side by side that couldn't be fixed. Was hesitant about the black stainless steel-definitely didn't want stainless, but you really can't see fingerprints or smudges. The inside is so roomy. The icemaker is little because it is located inside the door, but plenty of room in the freezer to store extra. The three drawers in the freezer are very easy to slide and because of these drawers, you don't lose everything to the bottom bigger drawers. The only complaint that I have is the blue light on the front for the water/ice feature. It is so bright at night and there is no way to dim it. But, that is my only complaint!

Didn't make it to 3 months

Less than 90 days into owning this lemon it stopped cooling both the fridge and the freezer. Sears employees are apathetic about it, they blame it on the Department of Energy requiring computer control of all cooling functions. Service is taking 3 days to get here...sadly I replaced an 18 year old Made in USA Kitchenaid side by side that worked very well....live and learn

Bad service/NO service

After ten months of use, this refrigerator has stopped cooling. I found a swampy stinky mess in the freezer last Sunday night. Now it's the following Saturday and after more phone calls to more people than I care to count, we STILL do not have an appointment for a repair man to come to the house. It's still under warranty and we even paid $400 for a three year protection plan which hasn't even gone into effect yet. I think I want my money back on that. Lot of good that does when you can't get someone to make a service call. They tell me it's because the purchase wasn't in the computer properly. I was told it was supposed to be rectified. Apparently it wasn't because still no one will schedule a service call because they can't find our purchase in the computer. I was told the manager of the repair dept would call me, first within 24 hours, then I was told that was not correct, to give him 48 hours. I did. No call. This is the 7th day of living with coolers and bags of ice leaking everywhere while that very attractive but non-functioning refrigerator (and we paid more than the present sale price) sits there taking up space. Needless to say, the family Easter dinner has been cancelled. We've had to throw away so much food it's ridiculous. I tried to save what I could but didn't have room for all of it. We've had bad experiences with Sears in the past but "got over it" and shopped there again. I think we've learned our lesson this time. I just can't believe the lack of response.

Kenmore NEVER again!

Do NOT buy a Kenmore refrigerator! We paid top dollar for a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator model 73157 in May of 2017. A year and 2 weeks later the compressor goes out. Since we were 2 weeks out of warranty we had to pay around $700 to fix with fridge and it took 3 weeks to fix! Countless phone calls to repair people from India that we could hardly understand. We thought it was probably just a random bad compressor....WRONG. This morning, Feb. 2019 about 19 months later the compressor blew AGAIN. I will not spend another dime on this fridge. It is going straight to the scrap yard. It looks beautiful but is a total piece of junk. DO NOT BUY A REFRIGERATOR FROM SEARS. Please, do yourself a favor and find a different brand.
