Spent a long time researching. This one has the best combo of features. Love the interior light. So bright!
I have the grab and go model. The drawers have 2 layers of plastic. Liquid is getting between the layers and turn brown. There is no way to clean it. The long drawer has 2 layers of plastic above the drawer and can not be taken apart to clean. The bottom of the freezer appears to be rusting. For $99 Sears will come out and look at it. These are design flaws.
I loved this refrigerator....until it completely stopped working after 2 years. We will have to wait at least a week if not more to get it fixed while we wait for the part...which is super convenient with 2 little kids.
When the maintenance guy came out from Sears he said our fridge is a lemon, and that this is a known problem. The compressors go out on these fridges after 1-3 years! I then asked him if the compressor gets fixed if we will be in the same spot in a few years, but he said he doesn’t know that yet because it is a newer model so they are all starting to break for the first time around now. That’s not super reassuring, but we don’t have the budget to replace an over $2k fridge at this time. What a joke that you pay for the “elite,” model and they are all ticking time bombs.
Bought this fridge in August of 2014. Compressor died in August of 2018. After some research I found out these fridges were built by LG and they have notorious problems with the compressor failing, sometimes as soon as 1 year. The Kenmore Elite does come with a 10 year warranty on the compressor. But, here is the kicker.... Sears Home Repair is the absolute worst process I have ever gone through!!!
I scheduled an appointment through the Sears Home Repair website, they had one available that next day! Great, right? NOT!! 45 minutes after scheduling that appointment I got an e-mail from them saying that appointment wasn't actually available and was re-scheduled for 1.5 weeks later! So I wait my 1.5 weeks and the day of the appointment, the repair tech calls me directly, in a panic, stating he wasn't going to be able to make it, the dispatcher kept adding appointments to his schedule and he wouldn't be able to make it. So, after the repairman no showed for that appointment, I was forced to reschedule for 2 weeks later! The repairman showed up for that appointment but didn't have the parts so he ordered the parts and scheduled me an appointment for 20 days later!! The parts showed up after about 5 days so I called Sears Home Repair to see if they had a sooner appointment. I was told they had one available a week sooner so I asked them to book it. I was told it was booked and I would receive a confirmation call the day before, as well as the day of. I never received an e-mail confirmation like I had with the previous appointments so I called Sears Home Repair again. I was told that the earlier appointment never existed and I was still schedule for that same 20 day out appointment that the repair tech had set up! GOING ON 2 MONTHS NOW WITH NO FRIDGE!!! What a joke this company is. I'll never do business with Sears again.
I've had this refrigerator for a couple weeks. Absolutely love it. We have always bought Kenmore for all of our appliances. Never have had a problem with any of them. We also have a Kenmore propane dryer. It drys clothes in half the time. Very efficient.
Love the fridge but I wish it was a non finger print, mess free stainless steel so its easier to clean
This it second of my Kenmore refrigerator, the option "grab-N-go" very good for my children. We love it anyway.
