Better In-Door Storage
Fresher Food Longer
I love my new refrigerator. It's got beautiful features inside and out. The only thing I dislike about this frig is that the inside plastic door (located on the right side of the frig door) keeps unlatching all the time and slamming the door into it. I have to go back and latch it again in order to close the door. Very annoying.
I have a 3 year old version of this refrigerator, but black instead of Stainless. The only part of this refrigerator that has not been replaced in 3 years is the Grab-N-Go door. That's funny as I thought my kids would wreck the Grab-N-Go door within the first month. Fortunately, we purchased the extended service plan as we would have spent twice what we paid for this piece of junk in repairs. The following have been replaced on this refrigerator: the control board, the freezer fan twice, the fridge fan once, the entire unit holding the fans, the ice maker 4 times, the left side door, the ice maker control panel, and this week the compressor. The fans are making strange sounds and will probably need to be replaced again. The freezer does not maintain a freezing temperature and we cannot keep ice cream. The ice maker will not make ice if the freezer isn't a certain minimum temperature so we only have ice half the time. This is not an exaggeration. The only saving grace for us is we are friendly with the local Sears repairman so he comes relatively quickly when we call appliance repair. I would like to be rid of this refrigerator but Sears says I need 4 failures in a year and certain repairs do not count as failures. This is an expensive appliance but performs like some low end, bargain basement appliance. The only positive in this whole experience is we had the fore thought to purchase the extended service plan. If you purchase this worthless appliance, I highly recommend the extended service plan so you don't go bankrupt repairing it.
Stopped cooling and freezing after 3 years and trying to get a repair appointment is at least 2 weeks out. Never mind the fact that we needed address and phone numbers updated and could not get reps to successfully do so after one chat and 3 frustrating phone calls. The last straw has been that for them to make the change, I get a confirmation email for another date yet another week later than the original appointment date!! That makes it a month for a service call and also the last time I ever buy a Sears appliance!! I am beyond frustrated!!
The fridge was made and installed in 2018 and it is no longer working in January 2020. First no ice and then hours later food is melting in the freezer and food was getting too warm in the fridge. Repair person says its too expensive to fix. Not even 2 years old and I need to replace this $2300 fridge. What happened to reliable quality Kenmore used to be known for? So disappointed.
I purchased mine Sept 2016. With in two years the compressor went out!!! I had to buy a new fridge today.
The fridge itself was very nice.
Not nice now that it only last two years!!!
Apparently the compressor is a known problem. Do yourself a favor.... find a different fridge.
I have had this frig for one year and I love it. I did a lot of research before buying, and am aware of the many poor service reviews. I decided to buy anyway because of the features and look were just better than others. Very happy with my decision!
lovely machine. so big yet doesnt take up more space than my last fridge. love it.
