Better In-Door Storage
Fresher Food Longer
I love my new refrigerator. It's got beautiful features inside and out. The only thing I dislike about this frig is that the inside plastic door (located on the right side of the frig door) keeps unlatching all the time and slamming the door into it. I have to go back and latch it again in order to close the door. Very annoying.
I have a 3 year old version of this refrigerator, but black instead of Stainless. The only part of this refrigerator that has not been replaced in 3 years is the Grab-N-Go door. That's funny as I thought my kids would wreck the Grab-N-Go door within the first month. Fortunately, we purchased the extended service plan as we would have spent twice what we paid for this piece of junk in repairs. The following have been replaced on this refrigerator: the control board, the freezer fan twice, the fridge fan once, the entire unit holding the fans, the ice maker 4 times, the left side door, the ice maker control panel, and this week the compressor. The fans are making strange sounds and will probably need to be replaced again. The freezer does not maintain a freezing temperature and we cannot keep ice cream. The ice maker will not make ice if the freezer isn't a certain minimum temperature so we only have ice half the time. This is not an exaggeration. The only saving grace for us is we are friendly with the local Sears repairman so he comes relatively quickly when we call appliance repair. I would like to be rid of this refrigerator but Sears says I need 4 failures in a year and certain repairs do not count as failures. This is an expensive appliance but performs like some low end, bargain basement appliance. The only positive in this whole experience is we had the fore thought to purchase the extended service plan. If you purchase this worthless appliance, I highly recommend the extended service plan so you don't go bankrupt repairing it.
This is an absolute beautiful frig. The grab-n-go door is great. However, this is a lemon of a frig. Please don’t buy, please don’t buy this frig. The compressor has already gone out twice in less than 4 years. On the latest compressor outage, had to wait 2 weeks for initial repair appointment, after the techs were arguing with each other and calling another tech on the phone, they decided it was the compressor. But I was having a loud fan noise inside the frig as well. Without even opening the frig, assumed it was the freezer fan, so they ordered a new part. Had to wait another 2 weeks for them to come and install the new parts. After installing the new compressor and new fan, the fan was still making a loud noise. Tech realized they replaced the wrong fan so had to order another fan for the frig part but at least my frig can cool again, right? Wrong, frig still doesn’t cool, so now I have to call them out again, and have to wait another 2 weeks for the same repair. Sadly, when they find another problem they won’t have the parts with them and will have to wait another 2 weeks for them to install the new part what ever it is. Sad part is that I got a 48 months financing plan, I’m still paying on the frig that has gone out twice in less than 4 years. Wow! Sears overseas repair call center is the worst as well. Hard to understand, don’t bother. Sadly we are still out a frig and a lot of money.
I have had this frig now for three months and I love it. I did a lot of research before buying, and am aware of the many poor service reviews. I decided to buy anyway because of the features and look were just better than others. Hopefully will still love for many years!
We bought this refrigerator 2 months ago and definitely feel as though we made the right choice. We looked at so many different refrigerators before purchasing the Kenmore Elite with the grab & go door. The price was definitely awesome (labor day sale) & there are a lot of really nice features for this price point. Love all the drawers in both the freezer & refrigerator compartments. They keep everything organized which was a big concern for us with the french door style freezer compartment. Love, love, love the grab & go door. We keep all our water, soda, juices, & commonly used condiments in this area. So nice not to have to dig around in the fridge for those items. The only real change I'd make in this fridge would be to make the refrigerator condiment door bins (on the inside of fridge) a little bigger/deeper. Larger jars & bottles don't usually fit, but plenty of room for smaller, skinnier condiments. None-the-less, we would definitely recommend this refrigerator.
I purchased this product just over a year ago, I also purchased the extended warranty. We decided to go with the black stainless color, now I wish I hadn’t. One of the corners on a door the finish has started to come off, for $2500 I would think that the finish wouldn’t come off, especially after 15 months! When I contacted the service department I was told they would send someone out to look at it, but she is for certain this won’t be covered under the warranty?? So they have products that the finish won’t stay on and they can’t fix it?? I will never purchase another product from sears!!
