I'm in love with this refrigerator

It was time to replace my 15 year old refrigerator. I researched obsessively and decided on this refrigerator, which is quite similar to the LG, except less expensive (or it was when I bought it). My main concern was whether it would make enough ice (some of these have 2 ice makers, and some reviewers complained about not enough ice). Well, not only is it MAGNIFICENT looking inside, it makes plenty of ice. It has tons of room and is just spectacular. When I open it, the lights are so sparkly that I feel as though I am going to a movie premiere. Yes -- Kenmore Elite, The Movie! The freezer on the bottom is surprisingly easy to access, with the 2 sliding shelves. We have had it for 3 months and feel very happy about this purchase.

Nice Features - Terrible Reliability

I cannot remember anything I've owned that is as unreliable as this fridge. It's kind of like owning an old British sports car -- great when it works, but spends more time in the shop than on the road. In this case, you will probably have the icemaker board changed, the frost-free fridge will frost up and short out a circuit board. The defrosting of this "frost-free" problem will be bad enough to leave 1/4" of water on your kitchen floor. Then, you'll find that the only option Sears offers for this top-of-the-line fridge is to charge you $800 (33%) for an extended warranty. Yep, this is quite the deal, and I believe an MG or Triumph badge will soon be joined by Kenmore badges in the Reliability Hall of Fame. On a positive note: it looks great, especially as a reflection in the small pond it creates, and it has super lighting (when the circuit board isn't shorted).

Very Disappointed

I bought this fridge in 2015 for $2500. 3 years later I paid $700 to replace the fan (Warranty was expired) and today it died again. I will be replacing it. I am not going to continue to sink money into this lemon.

Terrible noises, slow ice, cheap product

This is the worst refrigerator we ever had. Lasted only 3 years. It constantly makes weird vibration noises. Releveled it numerous times and no help. The noise is so aggravating, was glad to get rid of it. Takes forever to make a very small amount of ice. The ice maker is slow and useless. Will never buy a kenmore or LG appliance again. The water from the dispenser is warmed by the refrigerator, the water is never cool, it was always warmer than tap water. The compressor is poorly mounted and shakes around on its mounts. Overall a very poor choice for a refrigerator. Never again!

I have a kenmore elite bought now 2 yrs ago ...... I have had to have it worked on now 4 times. LG replaced their parts at no cost to me but I had to pay for the other parts extra 500 + not to mention the groceries. Having to wait with each visit 7-8 days before a repair person could even come to evaluate the problem and fix it. Woke up to a hot refrigerator and more spoiled groceries...... feeling so frustrated. Waiting 8 days for this visit.

3 years of a nightmare

We have had this fridge for 3 years. So far we have had the compressor replaced, then the mother board, next the ice maker, and now it completely stopped cooling and freezing again. This will be the 2nd time we have lost hundreds of dollars of food. We even just paid over $800 for the extended Warranty and they can’t get out to us for a week to look at it. God only knows how long the parts will take to get here and repair it, as we had to wait days and weeks the last times for the parts. We even had them out a couple of months ago for maintenance and we were told everything looks good and is running great. This is beyond frustrating, especially because Easter is tomorrow and we are having family over with no fridge to store all the food. I would definitely not recommend this nightmare.

Great product, but terrible purchase experience!

The kenmore elite fridge is absolutely fantastic. The online service purchase was very difficult. I had attempted to purchase this a while ago in september 1, 2017, and the online rep made the delivery to the store and not to my home residence.  Several calls had forced me to cancel the order altogether and left me very frustrated. November 24, 2017, I had ordered the fridge again, in hopes Sears online would get this right this time.  Of course I was wrong! They had recorded my city and zip code to be delivered in Lansing, which was a city one hour away from me.  This caused a reschedule delivery from a Sat delivery to the following Tues.  There was more issues and after 2 more reschedules finally recv’d it. Very frustrating experience, and trying to report this was even more difficult!
