Grab N Go

Very handy for things you need to get to often. Lots of room in this refrigerator. We were able to eliminate our other freezer with the size of this one. We are so happy with this style I would recommend it to everyone.

Not that it matters any longer but avoid this rubbish fridge

3 years, that's all you get, 3 years. Then it stops cooling. Rubbish and so expensive to repair it isn't worth it. It doesn't matter for Sears any longer because they self destructed. But this is an LG unit so stay well away from that also.

Great if you want your freezer door to fall off

|

less than 8 months after we bought it the freezer door fell off. Hundreds of dollars in frozen foods gone. We called, took them almost a month to come out and fix it. Great. 4 months later same problem, only this time were outside of the 90 day guarantee and the 12 month warranty is now expired. So $250+ to fix it..we haven’t even owned the darn thing for 16 months.

Find a different brand

I purchased this Kenmore Elite 74023 bottom freezer/refrigerator on March 13, 2016, which came highly recommended by Consumer Reports. It stopped cooling the fridge and freezer on September 10, 2018--only 18 months after purchase. The unit was not cooling at all, and the repair contractor dispatched to fix it via the Sears warranty program concluded it was the LG compressor. Additionally, he states the replacement compressor is on back-order with LG, and cannot be found locally. The quoted price of the compressor is $400, and that does not include labor to install. Before you buy this model, Google LG compressor lawsuit. The class action suit was dismissed in March 2018, but the problem with the part remains. LG manufactures the Kenmore brand, so I would not consider buying an LG either.

Don't buy the Kenmore Elite!

|

I bought a Kenmore Elite fridge/freezer 1/17. Finish peeled in months. Repaired. Other door now peeling 6 months later-same prob-and Sears refuses to repair it under warranty! This is an expensive model and the problem is not a new one but one that continues! This is awful customer service. Trying to report this to headquarters but I cannot find the email or home office number. I will never buy from Sears again.

Lasted 18 months.

|

Not pleased at all. 18 months after I bought I woke to a loud noise. Fan in the back of the freezer was all jammed up with ICE and everything in the freezer defrosted. Lost a lot of money in meat that I had to throw out. Hoping the ice melts and solves the problem but if there is something else wrong I'm not going to be happy at all...
