Very happy with new range with two exceptions

I love my new range. I have had it a couple of months. My old one died and I had to get a new one. The stove controls are really sensitive and I cook really easily with it. I love the two supercharged burners and the simmer burner. The oven preheats very quickly, usually in 5 minutes. There are two serious design flaws with this range: when the oven is on, you can burn yourself when you are setting some controls on the back panel, because the very hot air comes up at you through the vents, and again, when the oven is on, you can burn yourself on the stovetop knobs because they get very hot also. They are made of metal instead of plastic so they are really good heat conductors. Remember to use a potholder to adjust your cooking if you are also using the oven.

Two defective ranges in a row

I loved this stove in the store. Nice big broiler. Beautiful design. But first I was delivered one with a gas leak that exploded when I turned it on. Then no one from Sears would even come out and look at it because I have propane. so I had to pay my propane provider to look at it and write a letter that it was defective and needed to be replaced! Then the replacement Sears sent one week later had a huge dent in it. Where's the quality control? doesn't anyone look at these ranges before they send them out? Unbelievable!

Love it!

Tired of the sterile look and feel of stainless, I decided to replace all appliances with white Elite. Glad I did.. it looks great and not a single issue in over 1.5 years.

I put the stove into auto cleaning mode. At the end, the electronic ignition for the top burners no longer worked. I would have given the stove 5 stars because it worked so well. However, I am now waiting 6 weeks for a wire harness and have to light the burners with a lighter. I have had nothing but excuses from Sears and am still waiting for the part.

Oven Won't Ignite Properly

|

This oven will not light, fills with gas and creates a small fireball in it. I returned the original one and was sent another new one. It has the same issue. I had the plumbing company out to verify the value and gas lines were fine. I then spoke with Kenmore technical service, which was excellent, and they recommended having the gas company out. I did that last night and they confirmed pressure and meter was fine. They left after putting a Do Not Use tag on the oven as it's not safe. Now I get to call Sears again to have them take this one away. I love the Kenmore brand, but this is not a good oven.
