I love this microwave. It is very easy to set up and it is super easy to use. I love the stainless steel interior because it is so easy to clean and it just shines. The exterior is stainless steel too but this microwave is great because it has the stainless steel all on the sides too. Other microwaves are just black or a grey color on the sides and because this microwave sits on my counter, it looks great. My kids can easily use it too.
Seems good at first, then we did some cooking that took a longer period of time and it got hot inside. Once it was hot, when we removed the cooked food, the door would no longer close until it cooled off. Pretty annoying.
Love the functionality of this microwave/convection over, it's powerful and cooks great on the convection setting. This was a replacement, the first one I had last 16 months and then it would shut down because it thought the convection over was too hot, even when it was only on 375 degrees, then you had to wait 10 minutes for it to power up. Even with the insurance, it cost me $130 out of pocket to replace it. If the same thing happens again, I'm going to replace it with a totally different product.
I doubt you REALLY want to know what I think of this 'thing'....but, for openers, by my tape it measures only 1.26 cubic feet, and wont hold my wife's largest Pie Pan. When viewed side by side, my Sharp 1.5 cubic foot and this 'thing' are like looking at my pickup truck next to a compact car.
Crummy....you can keep it
Disappointed. Have all Kenmore Elite appliances in my kitchen and the previous microwave lasted 7 years.
But I still recommend Sears Kenmore team should look reviews here and make some fixes on this microwave.
When using convection the door won't close unless you push the door hinges in with a utensil so it will shut. Heat moved door hook out of alignment. Heat also causes the wheels on the spinner to get gunky and they start to slip and turntable stops turning. You cannot do a large chicken or anything too heavy as the turntable will not turn. It is very difficult to clean.
I have kept it. Too late to return it. I thought I would be okay manually helping door close when using convection and just keeping light dishes in it but I now regret not returning it. It is a pain. OH, worse of all? You have to cook with metal shelf pan which sits high so you have less room to fit food. In other words, you cannot convection by sitting a dish on the glass turntable. YOu must insert the included metal stand which is about 1.5" high so you lose a lot of cooking space. Fits an 8" by 8" glass dish only.
