Cares for Your Clothes
Accela Steam Technology helps reduce wrinkles, odors and static cling using a direct water connection so you'll never have to fill a separate water compartment again. Sensor Dry with dual sensor technology stops the cycle when your load is dry so you won't over-dry delicates or your favorite sweater. Static Shield makes sure you won't get shocked pulling your laundry out of the dryer. The NSF certified Sanitize Cycle means you'll never have to worry about whether your baby's outfits or your work clothes are clean by removing up to 99.9% of germs.

This one is definitely in the “Lexus” tier of electric clothes dryers offered by Sears – maybe not the top tier – but at least #2 or #3. Had Sears do the install, but the delivery boys didn’t know they needed to do preliminary diagnostic check – BEFORE – testing the dryer. The purpose of that diagnostic check is to ensure the vent flow isn’t constricted, and the check only takes a few minutes – super easy. The advertised photo of this dryer DOES NOT comes with the pedestal. It annoyed a little me that Sears (both online and in their store) advertises this dryer on a pedestal. Also, this dryer DOES NOT come with the dryer rack, so you can place garments or shoes inside of the dryer without those items spinning around the drum during it’s drying cycle. If you want the drying rack, you’ll have to order it from Sears Parts for an additional $15. Other little things like the power cable, the Y-connector cold-water hose outlet, and the exhaust tube – each you can find at a local lumber store or home improvement center for about $10 each. It came off to me as if Sears was nickel-and-diming me for little things, just after spending a lot for their premium dryer. The drum size is huge for a home version dryer – little over 9 cubic feet of space – easily was able to load a California King plush comforter in with no problems at all. There’s ton’s of drying features you can use, depending upon the fabric or items you are attempting to dry. There are also steam, anti-static, and sanitize features, but it’s my understanding that you are restricted to certain drying cycles, and some of the features are not recommended for delicate garments. The steam feature does help prevent over-drying, but you really need to get a feel of how to use these features – they are far too many to get into this review). Overall – a VERY high-end dryer with LED lights, musical tones, a ton of drying options, and a huge drying drum. It’s not that more quite than cheaper dryers, but it’s very big and nice if you have large comforters needing drying. I was slightly irritated with the way Sears advertises the dryer, and with what I perceived as some nickel-and-diming over needed dryer attachments that are sold separately (which earned a star reduction) for a $1K dryer.
My parents have always sworn by their Kenmore products. When it came time to purchase a new washer/dryer I choose the top of the Kenmore Elite line. The Steam functions don’t work. They only spray a heavy stream of water on the clothes, leaving a puddle of water in the tub at the end of the cycle, and the clothing wet. Not damp, dripping wet. I really wanted this to be a one off situation and have the same faith my parents do in Kenmore. After researching online, this has been a consistent issue with 9 cu ft dryer for 3 years running.
We only received the washer. The drivers told us that they only had the washer and that the dryer would be delivered another time.
