This is a great dryer although it doesn't always sense how wet towels are so I recommend the timed drying for towels. Also, the steam cycle I tried to use once but it left my shirt wet and not steamed dried at all. I would be cautious on this purchase.
The steam refresh feature does not work well at all. It ends up leaving wet spots all over the clothing and you end up having to do a timed dry after to get them dry again.
All though we have not used it a great deal yet, the new dryer is very quite, drys very quickly, and was an easy install.
The gas dryer works great. We have had it for 2.5 years and no issues to report. My wife uses it every day. Good money saver compared to electric dryers and faster.
Our household purchased this dryer a few weeks ago. The Normal cycle stops heating intermittently, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Called for warranty and got a runaround from a service rep who knew nothing about gas dryers much less this Kenmore model. She kept telling me that if the pilot was not coming on I would have to call a plumber to fix the gas line. I finally demanded that a technician be sent out and the service rep then spent 5 mins telling me how the service call was going to cost me if the dryer wasn't malfunctioning. After 15 min. on the phone with this person I am convinced that Sears has no interest in service after the sale.
I followed the online order steps for buying the dryer and also purchased the optional pedestal. When it was delivered, the pedestal was larger than the dryer and so the dryer could not be installed, Deliveryman left dryer and pedestal in my garage and gave me customer care number to call. Horrible customer service phone calls lead to 72 hour wait for return calls. It appears that the pedestal listed in the specification description is not the same as the pedestal that is offered in the optional accessories when ordering. Buyer Beware!
TE2 error code -- called day of delivery. Service tech came out 4 days later / couldn't fix beyond "lightening load" = no jeans, sweatshirts, bedding; socks & underwear only.
"Save Energy" mode = 45 minutes of air fluff & 15-20 minutes of dry time = wet.
Looking into returning / old 14yo Kenmore was still great ~ replaced to match washer.
