When I first bought my stove I was never given advice on cleaning and maintenance. The first time we needed maintenance I was embarrassed because I scrubbed my grates but they still looked unclean. I tried soaking it with regular Dawn dish washing liquid, comet, etc. Tried everything I could think of to take the oilyness and burned on food out. Even so much as letting the fire on all four burners stay on for 1/2 an hour. Nothing worked, until the maintenance man told us about this product. I have never cleaned it another way again. It does take time if you want it to work correctly. But it's worth the wait. This cleaner eats away at everything that is stuck to the grates and makes it easy to scrub off whatever got left behind. This is the best cleaner to clean my grates.
The product is okay. But it was shipped in a bag instead of a box. When I opened the bag, grate cleaner was spilling out of the package.i had to pour it in another container because both ends were off the tube and it was smashed down to oval instead of a round cylinder.
I received a sample with my gas stove and it worked so well. I cleaned the Bar B-Q grill and the product was very effective on it. I had a hard time finding the product on the internet. I was very happy to see I could order vai Sears and have it deilvered to K-Mart store for pick-up.
I have used the grate cleaner ever since I got my cooktop seven years ago. It is the best thing I have found to get the grates really clean. After soaking over night, the cooked on grease and food just washes off the grates without scrubbing.
This is a great product to get rid of build up on your stove top gas grates. Not sure about gas grills though. Just remember it needs to soak overnight. My only complaint is "Don't put the shipping labels over the instructions for use!" If I had already thrown away the old container of cleaner, I would have had to remember the directions of dilution.
first time user worked good
