Our basement is sandstone with a concrete floor, and it gets every drop of rain from the hillside we live on. We bought a small dehumidifier and plumbed in the easy to use drain hose (I did that because my hubby's back was out at the time), so we don't need to drain the drawer frequently. Our formerly damp, musty basement is now dry as could be, and besides that, it even smells fresh and clean again! My only regret is that I waited so long to replace our no-longer-functioning dehumidifier!
I am going to return it simply because of how loud it is. The sound is very annoying even from another room. I do have to say though that it does dehumidify very well and the little bucket fills up very fast. But, I have to find one that is not as noisy. It also does not have a handle to move it around it just has some invented area to push it. I would not recommend it
A little louder than I would like but it does a great job at taking the moisture out of the air.
It's made by Frigidaire. So not sure how well it will last.
The Dehumidifier is light weight, attractive features and appearance, but the water tank pint size was very small. Having owned a kenmore dehumidifier for 26 years it worked very well the whole time..but realized after I ordered the 35 pint it was not as much volume as my older one. It didn't make sense to have to empty more often. I returned it and ordered the 50 pint. As far as operation ..I can't comment as I haven't used this new Kenmore yet.
Stopped absorbing moisture after two two years. Did not even use it during the winter. Total waste of money.
