Our basement is sandstone with a concrete floor, and it gets every drop of rain from the hillside we live on. We bought a small dehumidifier and plumbed in the easy to use drain hose (I did that because my hubby's back was out at the time), so we don't need to drain the drawer frequently. Our formerly damp, musty basement is now dry as could be, and besides that, it even smells fresh and clean again! My only regret is that I waited so long to replace our no-longer-functioning dehumidifier!
I am going to return it simply because of how loud it is. The sound is very annoying even from another room. I do have to say though that it does dehumidify very well and the little bucket fills up very fast. But, I have to find one that is not as noisy. It also does not have a handle to move it around it just has some invented area to push it. I would not recommend it
Stopped absorbing moisture after two two years. Did not even use it during the winter. Total waste of money.
I have the Kenmore KM30 35-Pint Dehumidifier in the basement laundry area. 99% of the area is dry.
