Runs Quieter and Cooler than the model it replaced

I just got this as an extended warranty replacement for the previous model I got in 2013. The previous unit ran very warm (the basement was very warm). This runs like the one I had prior to my 2013 purchase which lasted 10 yrs. It has a better and easier drain hose connection. I do wish that the display would show the actual humidity and not just the setting. I would recommend purchasing the extended warranty on any dehumidifier regardless of brand. Based on reviews of newer models they all seem to have a high failure rate

BEWARE- DIES AFTER ONE SEASON

Bought this item in 2014, and worked great for the summer. The following year, started it up in the spring, 2015 and would only work intermittently until it would shut itself down with an error code. Took back to Sears, who were understanding and replaced with BRAND NEW one. Since, brand new, you would think the 1 year Warranty would still apply but NO, started it up this spring, worked four about 1 week, and ERROR Code. Waited until late spring to try again as error code usually indicates to cool of a temperature. Nice and warm now and didn't last a day. It was hottest day of the year. We took it back to Sears and they said they understand it doesn't work correctly but notwithstanding the fact the item was brand new at the end of May, 2015, they indicated it was out of Warranty, and therefore would not repair or replace or anything. I guess one season (2-3 months) is the limit for a dehumidifier to work. I originally paid $379.00 for this piece of junk. I will never buy a KENMORE anything again.
