I just installed my new brewer after happily using the Classic for many years. I never thought that the Strong button would do much. I like my coffee strong, so I used to use use two Dark Magic pods in 2 8-oz. cups to fill my big mug. With the new brewer, I just used one pod for a 12-oz Strong cup, and it's a wonderful-tasting cup of coffee. I haven't tried 16 oz cups with the strong setting yet, but I'd bet that it will be pretty good, but not perfect. For the record, it seems quieter, too, not that I care all that much. Love it!
First a note - people submitting reviews should identify the coffee maker they are reviewing, as I noticed there are various models mentioned that are NOT the model on the page where clicking 'write a review'. You would think if you are on a specific model page, that somehow the review would be attributed to that model, however it doesn't always seem to be the case. This review is for the Keurig® K-Select™ Coffee Maker. We bought this model to replace an older model in May 2018, by November 2018 the coffee maker no longer performed as designed. We would plug it in, press the power button and immediately unheated water would pour from the machine. Customer service was a bit defensive, making us jump through hoops answering questions over the phone, though I expressly requested communication via email. (Yes, I hate talking on the telephone to ANY support staff) Ultimately a replacement was sent. Noted was the "R" added to the model number on the shipping box. Does that stand for "Refurbished" or "Replacement", and is a replacement also refurbished? Who knows. So the "Replacement" machine has lasted until now (February 2019), two and a half months! It is now doing the same thing as the original purchased machine. Plug it in, press the power button and unheated water pours out. I managed to get a cup of coffee out of it this morning by allowing it to empty its tank, powering off, unplugging, removing the tank, refilling with filtered water (always use), replacing the tank, plugging back in, pressing power - we could hear that water was now going through intake to be heated and we were able to get coffee. But this is unacceptable. A coffee maker should work as a coffee maker, not as an unwanted cold water dispenser! And it most certainly should perform properly more that two and a half months. So I have contacted support once again, via email from the support contact form and once again requested a replacement. I would advise steering clear of this machine (Keurig® K-Select™ Coffee Maker) or at least proceed with caution, it may or may not operate as you would expect.
I have been planning to purchase a different Keurig. Mine was a old super deluxe model that started to have a switch problem. ( Switch, at rear of machine). Well I am delighted with my new Keurig, there are so many updates to the working that I am thrilled.
Great product and great service
This coffee maker does not hold a candle to the last Keurig I had. It’s very cheaply made. The water reservoir is not as large, and it shuts itself off after a while which is annoying. my last Keurig lasted 7 years. If this lasts 7 months I’ll be surprised!
