Yes, it should. My own Kitchen Aid has been dropped on the floor TWICE - the first time it affected the sound of the motor running (had it checked, no problem, still works good) the 2nd drop affected the switch that changes speed (so just bent it back in place) and then all on it's own it started slowly dripping out the food grease (that comes out from the hole the stem of beating tool fits in) BUT it is self fixable (youtube) and I just wipe it clean before using the mixer...no problem. After all of this, I am still able to mix eggs for 10 (TEN) minutes on HIGH with no problem. Of course, it got a little warm, but it DID NOT blow up. After that, it still works for normal things.
