While these mixers have a larger up-front cost, they are definitely worth it. My mother has had hers for about 20 years and it works just as well as my newer one. I love that the colors can be found to coordinate your kitchen. For us, red was perfect. The attachments are so much fun. My family has been trying to eat food that we actually make. It's SO much fun to be able to make your own pasta or ice cream. Definitely worth the time for us.
I have been coveting this mixer for years and based on other reviews I went with the pro model. It was supposed to be able to handle up to triple batches of dough- it doesn't. It doesn't even handle double batches of bread doughs easily and the last time we made a double batch of a very simple pizza dough the whole thing that holds the dough hook fell out and it hasn't worked right since.
I thought we had broke it the third time we used it making a double batch of biscotti since it just stopped but apparently it shut itself off. We've been using it since to make smaller batches and they worked okay until it fell in- even though we followed step by step instructions to get it back together- now it is useless.
The other thing I don't like is that it is very hard to get the hooks/beaters out when there is something in the bowl- next time I am definitely going for the head tilt model which is cheaper and I believe will do at least as good a job at double batches as the pro does.
I make a lot of deserts for large crowds and this saves me a lot of time [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Had this mixer for two years and I’ve used maybe twice. This model is awful. Can’t take the mixer attachments on or off with the bowl on. The whisk attachment is not coated and leaves black marks on your hands. And bowl rattles when mixing even with the crank to lift the bowl
Up. Would like to exchange for a tilt head but doubt that is possible. Disgusted with this product and model. Would not recommend to anyone.
