I bought the 55 gal version of this sandstone "rain barrel," said to withstand "extreme" temperatures. Once full, it split wide open at the bottom with the first freeze. Neither Sears nor the Canadian maker would stand behind the product to any degree whatsoever. The Canadian maker suggested it be emptied at the onset of winter and stored before it gets cold; i.e., AFTER it starts raining, you throw out the collected rainwater and put the barrel away. It appears the only time this "rain barrel" is safe to use is during the dry summer months. Pretty expensive ornament!
