A lot of tother phones really miss the opportunity to be educational, or worse, they are a little educational but also really stupid silly. This is not like that. Great toy to help your toddler with learning numbers. Very straight forward, you prest a number and the number appears on screen along as it is said. There is a little animation with a puppy (Scout) and an example of items of that number ("two puppy bicuits"). Although, it does not interact with you child, the selection of pre-recorded messages and conversations mimic an actual phone conversation so in that respect, this toy is more like a real cell phone than others I've found. There is a simple counting game (example"Let's count 6 hats!" And then Scout counts to six as hats appear) and there are number songs. Very easy to use. My toddler was able to figure out how to turn the songs/games on right away. The screen lights up so you can see the simple 8-bit animation. There is an on/off switch with two volume selections. My daughter has thrown this and stepped on it and it is still working. It seems like it's made to handle rough toddler play. Great toy.
I have this for my 14 month old and he has no intrest in it at all ... the screen is dark and hard to see, even in bright light ! He will listen to the music it plays and dance a bit and drop it & run ... I have other phones that were cheaper and he loves those ? ! .... all in all, not really a great buy, even on sale ... But, I have bought other leap frog items that were great ! I dont even have a pic of him with it, because he never plays with it :(
Never got it ordered to store I never got a refund either
