Overpower the renowned bounty hunter, Boba Fett to help Luke Skywalker avoid the ferocious jaws of the Sarlacc aboard the Desert Skiff!
Ages 8-14
This is a fantastic new Star Wars LEGO set!! The skiff, the "almighty" sarlaac, and the minifigures are all extremely detailed and well designed. This set contains three bags of bricks. The first bag has Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, and the sarlaac. The second bag contains Lando Calrissian in disguise, Kithaba, and the bottom of the skiff. Finally the third bag completes the skiff. The Sarlaac is big enough to "eat" a minifigure if one falls into the mouth of the beast. It has two tentacles and eight teeth. It is surprisingly realistic looking to the movie. The skiff is very well designed and has no stickers!!!!! It has a plank for Luke to walk onto, and even has a spot for him to stand. The side "wings/rudders" are articulated to imitate speeding down the desert. It is roomy enough to fit all four minifigures. Speaking of minifigures, the four included in this set are amazing!! Boba Fett has detailed leg printing!!!! His cape is a light green as opposed to the brown cape from his Slave 1 set. His gun is also better with the black lightsaber hilt as the barrel. Luke's minifig has a dual sided torso and black legs. Both his hands are flesh toned which is movie accurate. He comes with his green lightsaber with silver hilt. Kithaba is a cool minifigure. He has red pants, a maroon bandana, and dual printed torso. His face is well designed. Finally, Lando in his skiff disguise. He has his vibro-axe, awesome helmet, tan legs, and dual printed torso featuring his armor. Remove the helmet to show Lando with his trademark smile. The face is more detailed than the original Lando minifig. Also the detailing and colors on the helmet are much better. All in all, this is a great Star Wars LEGO set. It has fantastic play value, four awesome minifigures, a realistic looking sarlaac, and a skiff with a moving plank. It's a great starter for the Tattooine themed sets. Buy it with confidence!! Thanks for reading my review. Play Well!! Happy 80th Birthday LEGO!!
The set I got back when it came out. It is a great add-on to the newer Jabba Series and has new and detailed minifigures. Boba Fett is brand new with the leg printings and new scarf. Kithaba and Lando Calrissian are new and have new detailed printings. The skiff itself is very sturdy and better looking than the older two. The Sarlacc can hold a figure and although is not to scale, it is great. The set is a great to have and well worth the money!
This set was realy cool. It had a bunch of great characters and realy captured the scene of Star Wars.
This set is waaaay better than the old version (Except for the fact that the old one came with Jabba's Sail Barge) and is waaaay better for playing.
Pros:
1. You can put that weird alien freak and Boba Fett in the Sarlacc Pit
2. Lando looks AMAZING
3. There is a trunk in the middle for storage
4. Boba Fett has a movable antenna
5. Boba Fett is more movie accurate (The tip of his gun comes off, his helmet has scratches)
Cons:
1. This doesn't come with Han Solo or Chewbacca
2. This also doesn't come with handcuffs for anyone
3. There's nothing to hold the transparent pieces together, like a tile that looks like sand, like in the old version
The new LEGO Star Wars set contains a lot of fun. It comes with new minifigures like : Boba Fett with a new blaster Lando Calrissian with new details on the helmet. The Desert Skiff comes with a movable board so Luke can jump in to the mouth of the mighty Salacc, also comes with a place to hide weapons. The mighty Sarlacc comes with tentacles and mouth. The Desert Skiff comes in brown . It also contains under the Skiff 6 invisible round pieces so it loks like is fliyng.
That was my Review of the Desert Skiff. It´s preatty good.
Hello lego fans, this is a detailed review on what I think abot set 9496 Desert Skiff. Lets go on to the minifigs.
Lando: Nice staff, with a medieval touch. Cool helmet, front printing is very detailed, back printing very detailed too.
Boba Fett: just like in Slave I not much to say about it.
Luke: this is the only con to the set, in episode V luke gets his hand cut by Darth Vader, but in this set he has two flesh colored hands.
Kithaba: new minifigs are always good but this one... Is the awsomest one of ep I-VI sets realesed on 2012.
On to the set, it has a plank for luke to walk in and many moveable parts. The price is just about perfect and the reason I gave this set 4/5 is because the mistake on the Luke minifigure.
PROS:
The entire skiff Lando, Boba, and Kithaba.
CONS:
The mistake on Luke miinifigure.
