A good little build

Previous Lego Tie Fighter models have suffered with unstable wing hinges leaving a fragile ‘look, but don’t touch’ display piece. This model however has overcome that issue entirely and has added some cool little design features in the process. The build itself is fun to do albeit with some understandably unavoidable repetition on the wings. The main unit has some great access and detail; I genuinely think this is the best Lego Tie Fighter to date; despite the wing design being incredibly similar to previous models, I still got a kick out of the clever use of parts to get the details in them. For what you get and the overall size of the model the price is just about right too.

Would be great... If it wasn't so over priced

I've been collecting Lego Star Wars products for 10 years now so I know as well as anyone how the prices of Lego sets climb over time but this is obsurd. To start out I will tell you the set itself is exactly what you'd expect. It's a tie fighter with not much to offer except being able to add an episode 7 tie fighter to your collection. It doesn't offer as much as far as playability with the spring loaded shooters being the only feature. The mini figures they include the are nothing out of the ordinary. With 2 tie fighter pilots for each seat with an imperial officer and Death Star trooper thrown in there for a little something extra. Overall there isn't anything to complain about for the set itself as far as I know, even though I haven't scene the movie yet so I don't know if anything is missing or not. The pricing for the set is what is turns me away from this set. Just a few years ago you could get an almost identical set for 50 dollars but now it's 70. Im not trying to justify the pricing but fortunately for me being an older Lego fan and having a well paying job it's easier for me to fork over 70 dollars for this set. However Lego needs to recognize the majority of their collectors are younger kids who don't have very much money to spare and charging so much is especially unfair to them. I wouldn't be happy but I would understand if they charged 60 for it but 70 is just ridiculous. Bottom line is, I would recommend this set if it weren't for the price but because of that I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

She sleeps on the light side

I really liked the look of this TIE when it first came out but could not justify the price. I waited for a bargain and duly got one. It's a simple build and took a shade over an hour. It's sturdy. I don't get the folk who say it's flimsy. Once the wings are clipped in properly you can whoosh to your hearts content!

I've had it for months but only built it a few days ago. It's my 2nd Star Wars Lego build. The first was the MF 75105 which occupied my bedside locker. That has now migrated to my wife's locker and the Tie sits on mine. I sleep on the dark side!

While the build is easy it's quite satisfying. The cockpit is really really sturdy and the printed parts look fab. You can fit 2 TIE pilots in and they look great too. The set as usual has a few extra pieces including 2 roller sKate pieces. Naturally I put the on the First Order Officer to the delight of my daughter :-)

Very nice set. Shame it's retired now and will probably become even more ridiculously expensivery. However if you can find one at €50 is its worth it. It looks great beside the 75101 MF, particularly if you, like me, are a fan of The Force Awakens.

Better than the old one but...

PROS
·Great design
·It feels like a vehicule of first order
·Love the 4 minifigures( it cames with 3 normal blaster not the new blaster that i don't like to use because you can shoot accidentally and lost it)
·Easy to build
CONS
·Heavy
·It's a little bit difficult to put the pilots inside
· A little bit difficult to put the wings
If you don't have any other imperial spaceship
(or first order), i recommend it
