Designed for Convenience
I LOVE this range! The color of the interior is so pretty! Cooks great!
This range had good features, but I've now had to repair it twice in as many years. Not to mention the convection fan stopped altogether literally 2 weeks after the 1 yr warranty ended. First repair was because oven got 'too hot' during a self clean (requiring replacing a thermocouple), now it won't turn on at all after using both ovens on pizza mode (guessing thermocouple again). I'm a professional chef and have worked with all manner of ranges and ovens, and things break... but only using this 3-4 times a week and seeing this many critical failures warns me against buying any other LG products. Consider yourself warned.
Got the new stove to match the dishwasher and microwave, replaced a double stove . The LG was the best double stove available on the market.
My husband and I bought this oven a couple of weeks ago, and I only have positive things to say. A must buy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We have had our new range for about a month and love it! What I like the most is being able to cook 2 dishes at different temperatures. The only 2, very minor things I dislike about it is the controls being at waist level so when I bend forward to turn the oven on it frequently turns the stove on. It does make a sound when that happens to alert me of that. The other, even more minor thing is that the surface is a bit more difficult to clean as compared to my old range. This is not a perfect range. It's not the best one I could have envisioned. However it is the best that I've ever had. And it's the best one I researched before buying. Visually, it's pleasing to the eye- which is usually the 1st thing we look for. I love that the element knobs are it the front- this gives the look of a gas range. The reviews mentioned the knobs are easily inadvertently turned on, thereby posing a danger. I purposely brushed and attempted to turn them- and found it was difficult to turn them on without first pushing them in. So maybe this issue has been improved upon. I've owned ceramic cook tops for years and never have I had one this easy to keep clean. The cook top has a different look and feel then the previous ones I've owned. That is my 2nd favorite feature. Not finger prints- no smudges. I absolutely love the interior. The blue color adds a look of extravagance. I've only used the upper oven as I live alone. It preheats in less than half the time of my previous ovens. I love the chimes which alert me- I need to read how to lower the volume. The cooking temperatures and meal timings are right on point which has been absolutely surprising to me.
"1hr at 350" means what it says. So... the only negatives so far... Double ovens mean no storage drawer of course. And each oven is small. The upper oven is about the size of a large toaster oven. The bottom oven is really low to the ground- this may pose a problem if you have back or knee issues. And if you are into newer technology- you may not be able to sinc your oven to your phone. I downloaded the app to my Apple phone and spent over an hour trying to unsuccessfully link the range to my phone before calling my son. He couldn't do it- he said something about my phone needing"NFC capability"?? I was also disappointed that the range went on sale for an additional $200, the month after I bought it- but these things happen. This is the last purchase to complete my suite of LG products. When my washer motor went up a few years ago- I called the company to get a recommendation on a repair company- I was informed that the motor was still under warranty- and was given the name of a repair company. This sealed my commitment to LG. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was worried about purchasing a convection oven, but have found that it makes baking multiple items easier than a traditional oven. Time will tell if the product continues to perform for many years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
