Absolutely Perfect

Finally a washer that will fully clean your all your clothes. I selected this product due to the features and the amount of different cycles I can choose. Not a regret at all. I have washed a King sized comforter in this unit and there was plenty of room left over in the drum. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Amazing features! What a Dryer.

I bought this dryer about 7 months ago and I am so thrilled I did. The features are just amazing. Its what I always wanted in a dryer. I enjoy freshing my sheets or towels with the steam option its the best. It never leaves my clothes wet, just perfect. Thank you LG for making me happy.

I love my HUGE drywer

So far, I love the dryer. It's so large I can get a lot in there, which is what we really needed. my only challenge is I still don't know everything it can do. I wish there were videos for my exact model

After a great deal of research!

Ok, we had purchased LG front load washer and dryer in 2006. After 13 years and thousands of loads, the washer was worn out. I spent about a month doing research on new units. I’m a Custom home builder and have the opportunity to see a lot of new appliances and I get an earful of information from my home buyer should . I also have an installer who is an appliance repair man. We narrowed the large field down to the a new Maytag front load and the LG Signature 5.8 front load washer and the companion sidekick washer. Along with this we purchased the LG Signature 9.0 cu ft electric dryer. Now, before I describe what we really like about the washer and dryer, let me speak about LG’s signature products, something I absolutely new nothing about and I didn’t value when i purchased. First, when LG says signature, it doesn’t just mean a fancy color or larger size. When LG assigns the name signature, they really add some “extra” things that make the extra dollars with the expense. In this instance, there is a premium finish on the exterior. The units are a dark brushed chrome finish. Very nice looking and they show very little in the way of fingerprints. Inside the drum is stainless and the dryer is also stainless. Both are lite well. The overall finish is a step above most of the LG washer and dryers. Next you get 24 hour concierge service and a real LG employees maintenance repairmen on call to help you with any issue within a few hours of the call. About a week after our purchase, LG sent us a beautifully packaged $200 dollar gift card and a set of LG signature wireless headphones which retail at $199. On top of those items, as soon as I registered, an LG rep called to ask if we had any question or issues with the new units. I also received and email explaining all the advantages of being and LG signature customer. I hope LG continues to expand and refine the Signature line. So far we are very impressed. I’m nearing replacement of my family room TV, I’m definitely going to check out the LG signature TV’s.
Now, the washer dryer and side kick units. Ok, we Purchased our washer and dryer through COSTCO. The price was exceptional. I often purchase through an online company out of NY because they give me builder pricing and it usually is 30-40% less than Retail outlets. In this instance COSTCO was $400 more than the online company. COSTCO automatically added 3 years to the LG warranty. The LG drum and motor have a 10 year standard warranty. No other company offers that kind of warranty. Also, through COSTCO we received some additional bonuses for purchasing. All told, the $200 gift card from LG, the $200 headsets, and the additional $$ from COSTCO brought the actual price down $180 below the closest online competitor. So, it really has been a great deal for us.
Now on to the units. I will not go into detail, LG’s website will do that for you. What I will say is this:
1) washer, dryer and sidekick are very quite
2) we use the sidekick for small loads, most often women’s undergarments, and small loads of lightly soiled garments. It does speed up laundry duty when used in conjunction with the large front load unit.
3). The front load washer is massive!! It will easily hold king size bedding. I’ve run 3 extra large sleeping bags and the washer was not close to full.
4) The front load washer is fast and does a very, very good job cleaning everything. If you set the washer correct, use bleach, even large loads of white towels and “rag towels” come out bright and clean.
5) Front load washer is probably too big for small families or singles. We are down from 5 to 3 in the family, and the last kid leaves next year. We can already see, once out last child has left, my wife and I will seldom come close to max capacity on this until. If your a retired couple, I could see this washer being too big most of the time.
6). Dryer is one of the fastest if not the fastest I’ve ever used.
7). We love the smart Thinkq software in that, once it is set up, which is a royal pain and LG needs to improve significantly, you get notifications when the washers or dryer cycle have competed. That is truly a nice thing to have, because we use to forget to check and this notice helps keep laundry moving without delays
8). Finally, I so far have -0- complaints and nothing but praise for the washer and dryer. If it lasts as long as my previous LG units, I’ll be retired before we have to buy again. Hopefully by then, LG will have a washer/dryer combo that works as well as the stand alone units. Wouldn’t it be nice for the washer to dry the clothing also, removing the step of transferring from one to the other.

My final thoughts, LG isn’t a perfect company. I have 3 LG refrigerators, all top of the LG line. Every last one of the fridges have broken. Two of the three broke multiple times. I hope LG figures out how to build fridges that will last at least 15 years and preferably 20. That being said, I’ve had nothing but good service with LG washers and dryers. If your in the market for a very large, very fast and very good washer dryer combo, look closely at these models and other LG washers and dryers. Yes I also felt the sidekick was kind of gimmicky... but now that we have one, we no longer feel that way. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
