We bought this for our 18mo granddaughter. I never read the reviews before purchase, but I know kids toys don't last in the marketplace if they're dangerous. I also failed to read directions because assembly was painfully obvious. I knew nothing of others complaints and bad ratings because of issues with the handles and weight. When I put the pieces together, I noticed the handles were a tight fit, which is a good thing. They cannot be casually set up there and be expected to function. A person need to be slightly smarter than the tools they work with. it was obvious the hook goes to the front and needed to go in first, then the back lined up and pushed in, then a sharp smack with the hand to seat it. I appreciated the difficulty assembling the handles because I know they're in to stay. As far as the wobbliness, it's an inexpensive lightweight toy for little ones that's easy to move & store, and a child should always be supervised until old enough to comprehend physics (and accept consequences). They design and materials are all I would expect of it and it fits it's purpose perfectly. If someone wants a heavy duty playground piece, then maybe they should step up and pay for it instead of asking miracles from this fun little slide.
When we got our 2 year old this slide for his birthday, he was so excited! We went with little tikes because we knew it would last through any future kids. We quickly learned this slide was not ideal for our sons "first" slide. The height is good, so 2 stairs for a toddler are perfect. How ever the top of the slide where the child sits down needs to be wider. My toddler is very small for his age and doesn't have enough room to safely wiggle around to be in the right position (like if one of his legs is stuck behind him or under). Also, the handles should be taller, they are just a little higher than his legs when he is sitting up there making it very easy to tip. Unfortunately, my husband through the box away other wise I would return this and get a climber or something but I guess we are stuck with this one. For my 2.5 year old son to use this I have to stand behind him to make sure he doesn't fall off every single time.
One of the best things I bought them. 3 year old like to jump from the top. When winter comes they can bring it inside. Which is nice
Our son received this slide (Model 624605MX1) as a 1st birthday gift. The handles are clearly the incorrect part numbers, they do not fit in the slots at all. They are 1" wide and the slots in the slide are .813" .
After reading other reviews, researching assembly videos on YouTube and seeing comments from the OEM to reviews in this feedback section on their site, I attempted the soap trick, but it's clearly not going to assemble.
I should start by saying we bought this for my two year old who LOVES it! My problem is it doesn't seem super safe. I think if the handles were actually attached to the slide it would be a lot better as I am not the only person who clearly has trouble with them. I heard the two loud snaps but they still pop out. It says it's good up to 60 pounds but it's definitely for little kids - I personally wouldn't recommend for anyone over 3. Either way, we will enjoy sliding into our kiddie pool this summer and for the price, we are happy with that.
