My grandson and granddaughter have enjoyed this puzzle. Not only is it good coordination practice in placing the pieces but we've played with each piece individually to create our own 'band'. I would buy it again.
I expected the instruments to actually sound like those instruments!!! The drum and the xylophone were the only ones that sounded good. The rest are just different tones of the same sound. I wanted my granddaughter to learn from this, but that won't be happening.
Purchased this musical puzzle with the Wheels on the Bus musical puzzle. Both excellent quality and the sounds are great. Good buy for the price.
Great idea BUT it played on its own even without putting the puzzle pieces in. Had to take out the batteries to stop it. I had no idea that it was light activated but it played randomly BY ITSELF in AND out of the light @ night in the dark!. It would also play whenever someone moved it or walked by it. I(t is now in the trash.
Because our Christmas has been delayed due to illness, I just opened the puzzles today, put batteries in, and checked them out. In the Musical Instruments Puzzle the zylophone piece does not work. I need to contact you about getting my money back, or you sending me a new working puzzle. I also bought Sing Along Nursery Rhymes Puzzle which is working fine. However the two puzzles - which look very similar work differently This could be confusing for a two year old. The musical instrument puzzle sounds after you take out, THEN REPLACE, the piece. For the Nursey Rhymes, the song starts immediately when you take out the piece.
I received this toy as a gift from my daughter's grandparents. Hubby did not know the whole "light activated" thing and I just didn't read the "instructions". First time it startled me then I figured it out. Hubby did not know about the toy and. Last night after he turned the lights off it started playing. Talk about a possessed toy. Anyway, my daughter has little interest in it and the instruments don't sound like the original. Also, if you place the harmonica where the piano is suppose to go it still places. Pretty pointless toy.
